Hands down this is the most consistently good chicken in Baytown. The chicken is always hot and fresh, lots of crispy crust, tender and well seasoned, and I have yet to get any that was fried in old grease. We seldom get any sides, but sometimes even tho they are not seasoned much, it is easy to remedy once you get it home. (We always use the drive thru and get it to go). I have had their fish and hot wings, both very good also. Their yeast rolls are heavenly and usually saved for dessert with melted butter and honey or preserves. There is a Popeyes within walking distance but their service is inconsistent and typically the staff is uninterested bordering on rude. Their sides are very good, but they frequently run out. I used to be a diehard KFC fan, and once in a blue moon, we return, but it's hard to beat this Hartz location for a quick, GOOD order of thighs and roll. To top this all off, the staff is NICE, accommodating , (even making a fresh batch at 5 minutes before closing one night), and the prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend...
Read moreWe ordered fried chicken to eat in at the restaurant. We asked for hot sauce and was told it was extra...the Asian guy pointed to the handwritten sign taped to the wall that said, "Hot sauce is extra only for to-go orders," so we kindly reminded him that we were patrons eating in and he said yeah it's extra. We told him that is not what his sign says. He wanted to argue but it was very plain that his sign was improperly written. Long story short he didn't give us hot sauce for food that we purchased and he just waved us off and thought it was funny. Don't go here. How ignorant can you be? He clearly doesn't have a good grasp of the English language. They should just write a sign that says "For any order, hot sauce is extra." He then said if you buy the buffet you don't have to pay. I've never heard of buying food at a restaurant and can't get condiments. This is how this business franchise is being run. I took a photo and wish I could post it here. SMDH!

Read moreThis place ( Hartz Chicken on Alexander 146) had old dried up food, I mean all of it. They didn't put more rolls or any okra out or fresh chicken until the old mess was gone. The fish was old and so dried up it was like eating only batter . On top of it all they took the eatery, condiments, and everything on that particular part of the buffet (coleslaw, pudding, potato salad, ect.) They did this before we were even done eating, and 30 minutes before it was even time to start closing. They were staring at us the whole time trying to make us feel uncomfortable letting us know they were rushing us from the time we sat down at our table. I feel if they planned to close and didn't want us to eat in there they shouldn't have taken our money. I wouldn't be saying anything bad about the place because I enjoy hearts chicken over most chicken places but it was ridiculous. Go to the one on Garth road it's way better. The service, freshness...
