D & D Grocery — Restaurant in Baytown

I have bought breakfast burritos here twice. I don't have pics, but I can describe them fairly well. The tortillas appear to be homemade, and they are large in size, so that is good. They are still thin and a little on the dry side. They have 3 or 4 varieties of eggs. I usually get the bacon and egg. The bacon is light in the egg, but they do add slices of crisp bacon to it. They taste good. The mashed beans are good as well. I have bought the asado de puerco burrito twice, and both times, the pork has fatty pieces in it, which I do not like at all! The asado is very salty as well. I do not care for it, and asado de puerco is my fave, just not here! The prices are reasonable. You have to ask for salsa, because the first time they did not give me any. There are tables and chairs inside to eat on if you wish to dine in. They do have canned and bottled drinks. The place is very dark inside, not sure why. I has heard alot about this place, how good the food was. So I decided to try it, twice. It's OK, not great. At least the tortillas don't taste like...

This place has been around since i was 15 years old. Since the original place burned down. I dont think they will be able to stay in bussiness much longer. The quality has really went down hill. It is sad to see this happening. My photo is what i mean with quality probkem. Tbis is a fajita, with bacon and cheese. They used to put 1 to 2 strips of bacon all way across the taco. A Baytown institution! Now in the 4th location that I've visited. Fresh in-house made tortillas are AWESOME! A variety of tacos to choose from, all made fresh, right in front of you. Their default "cheese" is a cheese sauce - I personally love it! A bit salty, coats and permeates the filling, great flavor. But you can also request a shredded white cheese - which my wife prefers.
