I for the life of me do NOT know why this place is so highly rated! Was very disappointed with my food! I was hoping I was going to be able to give it a 5 star rating like a lot of people have but I just can’t! I had the rib plate and they were horrible! Honestly tasted like ribs you can get off of a Chinese buffet! Basically a bunch of gristle and had a taste like they had been refrigerated and then heated back up! I had mashed potatoes and potato salad for the sides and they were both yuck to! The mashed potatoes had a watery consistency something like you would get at a hospital! No seasoning and the gravy must be out of a bag to. The potato salad was not homemade it was definitely out of a container. Tasted like Walmart’s! I’m so frustrated that I wasted money there when I could have Kings BBQ delicious ribs. But I saw this place had a high rating and wanted to try it out! People be honest when you rate stuff! Just because your cousins uncle aunt works there doesn’t mean rate them a 5! Just because they have some antiques laying around don’t rate them a 5!! Some people seriously use the ratings ! Especially people that are not from the area! This is NOTTTT 5 star food! Honestly I would have rather went to McDonald’s and paid 5 bucks for a meal rather than 13.00 for complete disappointment!! The cashier was pretty friendly is the only reason I’m...
Read moreWe were excited to hear of their re opening and went last night to give them a try. The burgers and fries basket are delicious! Total bill with a pair of drinks was $30 so the same $15 a person we pay going through just about every fast food place in town nowadays. If you give me the choice I’ll take an eat-in, family owned establishment everyday! My wife raved about their sweet tea and she is Southern gal so that is saying something. As to staff… I read the previous reviews and here’s my take: they are YOUNG - just starting out - and what they lack in experience they make up for in kindness and effort. This isn’t a 5-star Michelin restaurant where we should be overly critical. This is a down home, Southern comfort, come as you are and leave happy over hungry kind of place. So enjoy the atmosphere, dive into your plate and make magical memories with your family. Thank you Roosters for returning to Baytown. We will be back - maybe today lol Ryan...
Read moreThe meat was cold, the mash potatoes looked like they have been sitting out all day and the pinto beans had to have come straight from out of the can without adding any seasoning. I've eaten at every BBQ place in Baytown and this is by far the worst, which was a huge disappointment since I heard so many great reviews over the years and was expecting this place to be amongst the best. I wasted $18 on a two meat plate and iced tea which is way over-priced compared to the other BBQ restaurants in the area. This was my first visit and definitely my last here. The only good think I can say is the waitress was nice and I feel bad not tipping her because of how disappointed I was with my meal, but I left feeling like I was robbed or made a donation for some unknown cause. Don't waste your money here unless you like cold, bland,...
