What about customer service? My first time at the restaurant, and went to the counter to order. Order taken, left 20% cash tip in the jar and sat down at a table. Turns out, they took it as a take out order. Sure, I missed the hand written sign that said wait to be seated, but there was no host/ess. I ask if I can take the bagged order to my table inside (where it’s cooler) and they said, “Can you eat outside?” No napkin, no knife, no ketchup, no salt in the bag. I have to go to the counter and ask for everything individually. What ever happened to accommodating the customer? They weren’t busy. When I asked why they didn’t ask if it was take-out or dine in, they told me that there was usually a hostess at the door. There was no hostess the entire time I was there, probably bc they weren’t busy. I’ll go back bc the food was good at a good price, but it wasn’t a...
Read moreI ordered the chopped salad since my sister highly recommended it. She raved about how much mozarella, salami and chickpeas were on it. For some reason mine had a very small amount of mozarella (I think 5 little flat pieces) and very few chick peas. Salami was fine. The dressing a bit too heavy on the oil. However, when I mentioned the mozzarella, our server did provide me with an extra small bowl of it, which was great . That certainly did help. They were also were kind enough to give me additional lettuce. Overall, I think the salad could be greatly improved by adding a few things like perhaps a few tomatoes, red roasted peppers, etc. and just a decent amount of mozzarella and chickpeas. I do like the place though very much and I’ll be back. My husband enjoyed his dinner. Servers great. Maybe just an off night...
Read moreI'm genuinely puzzled by the positive reviews for Jersey Girl, as my recent experience was quite the opposite. While I want them to succeed, their operational disorganization is tough to get past.
Despite numerous open tables, guests weren't allowed to be seated, which created confusion. This same confusion extended to their takeout service; it's unclear whether customers are permitted to use the many available tables to eat.
Our waitress was pleasant, but the lack of overall organization was tough. Even with an almost empty restaurant, the wait time for our food was unreasonably long. Though the food itself was good, the portions were small.
Overall, the frustrating and aggravating experience overshadowed any positives. Jersey Girl desperately needs to figure out their...
