Mister Softee Ice Cream — Restaurant in Beachwood

It’s no surprise that Sundaes down the street was packed at 8:30pm on a Sunday and this place was empty. Such a mistake to go here. The place was mess, melted ice cream, sprinkles and dirty counters all over. I seriously contemplated saying something to the girl who came out of the bathroom (which you could smell marijuana from) when she opened the door. She had long green nails, and repeatedly touched her hair in between helping customers and when she scooped the ice cream, her nails touched the ice cream in the bin. So gross!!! Does this place even know what a ServSafe certification is to train their employees or even educate them on proper food handling procedures. Probably not, since they didn’t have certificates on the wall.

Meanwhile, I watched a girl- I assume was new because she didn’t know what a half gallon container was, sloppily fill the container with soft serve vanilla and leave it sit on the counter, melting down the sides-even with a lid on, while she packaged small containers of sides. It was such mess.

Then, while checking out, the girl who rang us out, once again, touched her hair another 5x and then ripped a 3ft receipt off the register and chucked it behind her..into the mess that was already accumulated behind her.

10/10 don’t go to this place. It used to be good, and I understand it is hard to hire employees right now, but how hard it is to train them appropriately? Especially when it comes to food safety…… Much better off going to Miss. Mindy’s or Sundaes….even Dairy Queen...

Ordered my ice cream through 3 different girls. I guess being that 3 different people took my order it got a little confusing for them. My medium plain vanilla was large and my large Sundae was med and had none of the 3 toppings I requested. I live over 5 miles away so I called. I didn't ask for a refund but I asked if maybe I could get a new ice cream next time I came in. I was told not unless I brought the product back. My ice cream was now made 20 mins ago and you want me to drive 10 mins back with melting ice cream for you to throw some toppings on it. How about not inconveniencing your guests and making it right the first time. And if we can't do that a full refund should be offered. I wasn't even asking for that. Thats no way to run a business. Especially to a customer who drives out of their way just to give you their business. I will never return. And neither will the 4 family members who's ice cream you screwed up and...

I went here to get a cone with ice cream. The girls were artificially friendly as usual and the ice cream was only just cold enough to keep it's shape. I did not even walk 5 feet before the ice cream was melting on my hand. I could not eat it fast enough before it melted all over the place. It became liquid so fact that even the cone completely broke apart. I am sure that the girl knew (or noticed) that this was not right but she served it to me anyway, but in a hurry. They should know that ice cream is supposed to be at a certain cold temperature. I was a big fan of Mr. Softee for years since they had ice cream trucks and even though it is not as good as it used to be, I decided to try it again.
