Extremely disappointed. I was told by the staff there were a lot of vegetarian and vegan options, and ordered a veggie gyro and told it was vegetarian, it tasted like meat. I asked if the vegetables were cooked with the meat and was told yes, they share a grill, I said it wasn't vegetarian then, the staff said "it's not strickly vegetarian or vegan" Uh NO, that is not how that works, if it's cooked with meat it's not vegetarian nor vegan, period, and was told " well people are so greatful to have the options they don't mind" No, you lie to people and I assure you if they are vegetarian or vegan they would be mad to be lied to. It's very wrong to be dishonest to make a profit. The gentleman also informed me with some attitude "well we can't fit another grill back here" yeah, really not an acceptable answer or my problem, I am the customer not your employee! Please stop lying to customers and educate yourself, you don't know if it's preference, medical or religious reasons and you could really make someone sick and not just disgusted.

veg·e·tar·i·an noun a person who does not eat meat, and sometimes other animal products, especially for moral, religious, or health reasons.

adjective relating to the exclusion of meat or other animal products from the diet.

veg·an noun a person who does not eat any food derived from animals and who typically does not use other animal products.

adjective eating, using, or containing no food or other products derived from animals.

Update: Cute reply, I appreciate you completely ignoring and attempting to invalidate my review and concerns. Nice try. My dietary needs were not in question just your inept staff, do better, ignorance isn't a valid excuse you could make someone...

I am a huge fan of Mim's. I travel 45 minutes one-way to get their vittles a few times a year. I have sent countless people to them as a bonfide "local/hidden gem." But the past 2 visits I have been plagued by payment issues and this most recent visit had an order issue as well. It is 100% my fault for not having checked the order before I drove off. I know better. Even the best restaurants make mistakes. But I didnt. I got home to find a much anticipated item, the stuffed grape leaves, missing. $4. No big deal, right? Just call, explain and get it refunded, right? Sadly, no. Woman answers phone. Explain situation. Told her how far I drove. Cant come back. Refund for missing item? In the most irritated, pissy voice she informs me she would have to refund the whole order and re-charge us for just what we got. Well, I felt bad immediately for having even suggested the idea of a refund for food I didnt recieve. Told me they could credit me the item for my next visit. Ok. Fine. Should also note that I tipped them $4 for bringing it out to me. On a previous visit, they gave us major grief for an order paid for over the phone for under $50 when, at the time, IT WAS NOT POSTED ANYWHERE ON THEIR WEBSITE. Im just....dissapointed. I've always had such good experiences here and excellent service. Now I get a really irritated person who expresses how absolutely PUT OUT and TROUBLESOME it would be to just give me my money back for an item not recieved because obviously the debit/credit card system they are using is cantankerous or outdated or charging them ridiculous...

I made the mistake of taking in a beverage that I had bought an hour and a half prior to the going to restaurant when my sister and I decided to stop for lunch. After we walked up near the front counter the owner, Brett, immediately starting speaking out to me that I was not supposed to bring another beverage in to “his restaurant.” He was speaking loudly and made a point to call me out about an innocent mistake in front of all the other patrons. I was quite surprised by his behavior. He went on to say that he had signs on the doors saying no other food or drink allowed. When I responded that I did not see a sign and I 100% absolutely did not, his response was “of course you didn’t.” My sister had wanted to eat there and we were already in the restaurant and she had started ordering so I stayed. I took my apparently offensive drink back to my car and spent the $1.50 purchasing a beverage from Brett’s restaurant to make him happy. I guess that $1.50 was so important that he needed to behave the way he did. It was a good lesson for me. I will certainly never make the mistake of stepping in...

Casual dinning with excellent service, spot-on flavors, and lives up to it high google rating. We ordered the Zeus Greek Salad (added Falafel), Original gyro, Tabbouleh, and Baklava. The salad was tasty and HUGE. It comprised of a mixed bed of lettuce, beets, red onions, tomatoes, banana peppers, and a large portion of kalamata olives, artichoke, and feta. The disk shaped falafel had a crisp shell with a beautifully soft center. The Original meat Gyro was standard with soft grilled pita bread and spot-on tzatziki (creamy cucumber sauce). When I first saw the gyro, I was a bit worried about the number of onions, but they proved to be sweet instead of jarring. The original was so good I did not think to take a picture till it was finished (oops). I don’t often finish my dessert, but I loved this walnut Baklava and ate all of my share. It was flaky, correctly spiced and served at room temperature. SO Good! Portions were generous so we had to take the tabbouleh home. Mim’s is a Petoskey gem! We will definitely be back.

We greatly enjoyed our visit and meal at Mim's. Our order included Greek Vegetable Soup, Veggie Gyro, Garlic Hummus w/pita, Zeus Super Greek Salad, and vegan chocolate cake. Our order was about $46. The soup was full of flavor and definitely a comfort food. We were well taken care of by the owner, Brett. He was friendly and very welcoming. We were even treated to a couple of samples of his other menu items including the tabbouleh and the corn chowder soup. The food was amazing, so healthy, and full of flavor. It was a highlight to our visit in Petoskey. Thank you, Brett!

Wow, for $16.00 this is what I get?? No thank you! Didn't even try this food. The side pasta salad was larger than the actual meal. **edit: after trying the food, I could only draw one conclusion, not a fan at all. The Curry Chicken Plate reminded me of my college days of eating those horrible chicken ramen noodles to survive while paying for school.... 😩 no need to imagine how the rest taste, I'll tell ya, just as basic as the curry. Only positive thing in my case, I wasn't given a frozen salad to eat, like my partner🤭😂 ** couldn't even heat up the Pita Bread 😔
