UPDATE: As of Today I've sadly changed my 5 star rating to 2 stars. I have been coming to Luby's for over 20 years and today was truly the first day I was disheartened. A woman manager whose last name is Dotson displayed unprofessional and belittling behavior reprimanding an employee in front of dining guests without ever having issued an apology for the inconvenience/interruption she caused. She was yelling at an employee to get off her clock on and off throughout my family & I's, saying things that I feel should have taken place in her office, if she has one, or somewhere private. Her behavior was aggressive and unacceptable. I'm not sure what the whole story is behind her behavior towards this employee but he handled it with dignity and Grace, His name is Ellis. As for the manager you would think they will put someone in position that will be able to manage their team members with some level of professionalism and humanity. Manager Dotson yelling at Mr.Ellis in front of guests like no one else was around definitely dampened the mood for my family and other guests surrounding us. The entire atmosphere changed and not for the better. I sincerely hope the appropriate actions will be taken to address the actions of this manager. I realize luby's is liquidating and if there are more people in position with this kind of attitude towards thier staff and inconsideration towards paying customers then maybe it's for the better. I'm not saying Mr. Ellis is blameless but neither is Manager Dotson. As a returning customer of over 2 decades having known the standard of customer service I'd like something to be done about...

I ordered the oxtails, so as were paying, I wanted more rice, the manager Eric originally fixed it, so I go get more rice and gravy, as I'm walking back, the manager yells, "rice not free" very nasty tone, so I turn an ask is he speaking to me, first thing is you don't speak to me in that tone, second I can buy all your rice and then some, and third he was racial profiling. Is this how you speak to all the African American people that comes to your establishment? I'm in uniform, I'm a Frontline worker clearly by my uniform but you still spoke to me like I was dirt. I paid for the rice as I was going to do before, Eric the manager made a scene. My mother wanted to leave it all, I chose not too. It sat on my heart though, so I called to ask Eric why he spoke to me in that tone and in that manner, I finally reached him after calling 3 times, 2nd time I asked for corporate number, the 3rd call he immediately answered, so apologetic, he felt bad for what he said, and how he said it, apology not accepted Eric, you meant what you said when you said it and how you said it. Great thing for Eric, I don't live in that city, my parents do. I won't be spending anymore money at Luby's in Beaumont and that's a promise. I also expect him to honor his word in doing something for my parents instead since I don't live there. Read moreAfter waiting in the drive thru line for 15 minutes, I finally got my order. I ordered the three veggie plate, double order of cabbage, mac n cheese and a jalopeno cornbread. Side note: they no longer have spinach on the menu, which is a bummer. That was the best side order they had. The young lady at the drive thru window was very polite. After leaving and arriving at work, I opened my plate and noticed that ghe cabbage looked as if it was the last in the pot. It was brown ahs I had way too many of the center pieces. But I tried eating it anyway. I took a few bites of the mac n cheese and that's when i noticed a piece of hair in my mac n cheese. I immediately stopped eating and dialled their number, no answer. This was around 12:30 so i figured it's the lunch our I'll try later. I tried calling several times between 2 and 5, no answer. It went straight to a recording directing me tho try again. They have my $7.57, but I couldn't eat my food. This is unacceptable. I frequent this restaurant at least 3 times a month or more. This is bad...
