Martha's — Restaurant in Beaumont

My beautiful mother recommended this place because she and her husband love the food and thought me and my family should give it a try. So I did, first thing that puzzled me is normally when getting food to go they allow you to see the food before leaving. She didn’t, she was attempting to double knot the bag when I told her there was no need as I was going to check my order in the car. Once I did I noticed the grilled fish and shrimp had a gravy with it, very different and the shrimp had no tails on them which made them look small. On to the next I had the combination noodles that had six bait shrimp in a large order, Kmsl. This is just what it’s coming to, I should always cook @ home. My son had the nine chicken wings and fries. He hasn’t even tried it since being home. For the 61 dollars I spent I should have just went to HEB and cooked. Lesson learned. Thank you, but no thank you ever...

They did not disappoint. Frist time dinners. We asked a man walking in if they were good before we even entered the building. His enthusiasm sold us 😂.

We ordered the salt and pepper wings and shrimp with fries as he suggested. It was so good, pipping hot. Fresh, super crispy and flavorful.

Let me talk about this batter...it was light and airy, with a hint of sweet that blended so well with the salt and pepper. Not to salty at all.

Con: stay far away from the egg rolls. They were gross. Had a weird floral taste. We took one bite and spit it out. They didn't give a refund but did offer to make more but we opted not to try them again and instead got sodas in the their place.

Went here for years while studying at Lamar university partly because of the lack of eating options here around campus I kept going back. The only person there that knows what their doing is mama, the other "daughters" there are as rude as possible often arguing with the customers and getting irritated when you ask for a student discount (I went there frequently enough for mama to remember me but the other two would always ask to see my Lamar ID just to get the discount, even though they obviously recognized me from my previous visits.) The, restaurant itself is always cold and crack head filled, food is sub par at best and the service is guaranteed to frustrate even the highest...
