Food should not be left out at room temperature for more than 2 hours, unless it is kept hot or cold. If the temperature is above 90 degrees Fahrenheit, the safe holding time is reduced to 1 hour.

My husband and I purchased food around 3:30 Thursday 2/20/25. He had turkey wings, cabbage, corn and cornbread. I had the bottom of the barrel beef tips with rice, greens, candied yams and cornbread. Of course they give hefty portions, so there’s always leftovers. My husband became very ill from food poisoning Thursday night and is still recovering. I just got a bad stomach ache. The food wasn’t fresh and sat out too long on the serving line. I threw the leftovers away Friday morning. I think the food is prepared somewhere else and transported to the restaurant. The times I’ve gone there they are never cooking food. This is the first time we’ve ever gotten sick from eating here. And will definitely be the last time. If they open at 11a.m., they should not be serving the same food in a cafeteria line at 3:30. I’m really saddened by this incident because we would often frequent this restaurant sometimes on Sundays after church. Came on a Monday after hearing about this place from a coworker. It was nice and clean inside, I was greeted, they told me to take my time and decide what I wanted so I didn’t feel rushed and pressured to order quick. All of the choices looked fresh and amazing. I got hamburger steak with mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese and stuffing. The gravy as you can see is nice and dark and so flavorful with a bit of a nice kick that is hard to replicate without being overly spicy. My Husband has been working out of town and Me and our daughter came out and visited him and he said Let's go tried this place that his coworker brought him and it's very delicious. So we went and OMG!! It was so good and portion was so awesome let me tell you they live up to their saying it's all gravy!! Seasonings was great the food was great and they was so nice made you feel welcome at home!! We was also to be proud to pay for the military men for their lunch today we do support them because most my family is military we always proud to do it!! I will be back to eat their food again!!
