Walker's Diner & Bakery — Restaurant in Beaver Dam

I was to Walkers several months ago with a friend for a fish fry...both of us had something different...and we were both dissappointed in the quality of the fish/temperature, etc. We never said anything. We decided it was not going to be a place we go to for dinner. But yesterday, I thought I would give it another chance and take my college granddaughter to breakfast there. Another big dissappointment. She had a greek omelet...with CANNED black olives and fake feta.(we are greek – so those two things stood out)...it was not appealing looking at all. But I had a ham & cheese omelet with hash browns. The ham was tasteless, the cheese was fake american cheese, the eggs weren’t completely done and the hashbrowns were cold. I am NOT a fussy eater usually, but sooo dissappointed in this place. I feel like I completely wasted $20.00!!! Had to wait for hot coffee. I see the place has regular customers and some good reviews...but I am batting ZERO at this place. Not sure how you have stayed in business this long. My family of 4 stopped in for lunch a week ago. We've been here in the past and I wasn't impressed, but thought we'd give it another go. This place is unsanitary. All of our silverware was dirty. I had the waitress bring some new silverware only to realize the majority of the dishes that our food was served on was dirty. One of the bowls had so much old crusted egg yolk that I don't know how they didn't notice. Maybe they need to look into their dishwasher. We sat in a booth. There is a large noticeable space between the booth and the window. I can't begin to tell you how disgusting it was. There was old food, garbage, gum, etc. I wanted to vomit. Then to make matters worse there was hair in my food. I couldn't leave fast enough and didn't want to make a big deal about it as there were many people around us eating. I support family owned business, but this place is absolutely disgusting. I will NEVER eat there again. This place don't even deserve 1 star. I tipped the waitress. We were seated. Noticed 3 elderly (one disabled) guests seated at a table near us. A waitress approached them and said "we don't allow people to sit at tables that aren't completely cleaned off." The table only needed to be wiped down...there were no dirty dishes on it. The 3 elderly patrons complied, but struggled to get to a different table. Who does this? I ordered a "cheese" omlet. Sadly, it was a slice of Kraft cheese food, not real cheese. C'mon! This is WI. My husband is gluten free so ordered gluten free toast. It wasnt toasted; just two pieces of bread. If a waitress sees this coming out from the kitchen like this, why deliver it to the table unquestioned? By the time the waitress returned to check on our table (to get bread toasted), I was already done with my meal. No restroom in the place. It is a shared restroom with a linking business.
