The Hillside Pub — Restaurant in Beaverton

Service was mediocre bartender was nice but extremely slow and no sense of urgency. The only time I had a sense of urgency when was when she was ready to cash me out because she was getting off her shift. I did notice a lot of regulars and they had serviced them with premium service. I'm not one to write bad reviews so now I'm considering the fact that regulars are a good thing however focusing on the customers then never come in or are new faces is also extremely important!

It took me 15 minutes to receive a menu and ask what I wanted. the bartender seemed to disappear frequently in the back office with a full bar and a total of about 10 people. When she did come out she was hustling to catch up but I noticed a lot of customers not being serviced or asked if they needed anything frequent enough. The couple behind me walked in 20 minutes afte and she tended to their food order and drinks and they were able to order and finish eating before she even asked me what I wanted to order for food.

I only tip 10% as I felt bad and even that was too much for what I received.

Again I am taking into consideration that there are a lot of regulars and I agree with taking care of regulars as they pay for this business to keep his doors open. But please keep in mind and have the bartenders be a little more tentative two people...

Food is good but service is terrible. We go there quite frequently cause my wife likes to play the machines. But even being a local I have to stand by the bar entrance to get any service. I’m not alone, this happens to everyone over and over again. I sat at the table with an empty glass and they walked by me 6 times and never asked me if I wanted another drink. If I plan on eating, I need to grab my own menu, and again go to the bar and tell them what I would like. The food is good, but it’s not good enough for bad service. It’s become a frequent joke between my wife and I. Where can we go tonight to get bad service. The answer is always Hillside Pub. If your looking for terrible service, you now know where to go. We come here often and tonight Aug 16th the two waitresses couldn’t be bothered to acknowledge us and it wasn’t as nearly busy as it typically is, we sat for nearly 20 minutes to be acknowledged we came for wing Wednesday and asked if there was anyway to get all flats she could’ve just said no but went out of her way to say “to ask our cooks to dig thru a bag is a slap in the face”. She was incredibly rude, how am I to know that the wings are in a bag and not in a tray or what goes on in the kitchen? we love hillside and most of the wait staff and especially the kitchen. I would just avoid the wait staff from tonight the kitchen however...
