China Star — Restaurant in Bedford Township

So, weird experience. Admittedly I was running 15 minutes late to pick up my to- go order, but they called me, and I was like 'yes I have a to-go with you is everything ok? Are you out of a dish?' "Oh no, just letting you know it's ready" 'yes I know, I'm in the gas station next door'....geez. I get it people call off orders, but she kept pushing...and then I've never been there before and they have no lights on but the very small open light, the name of the place isn't even lit up! And the cashier was pleasant, ya know, here's your food, I said happy new year, no response. And then I get home and had to salt the driveway real quick amd get a second call! It's a guy and he says 'you have a pick up with us?' I was like 'yeah I already picked it up! Am I missing food or something? I haven't checked my bag yet and I know your closing soon.' "Oh no no just double checking " hm ok. Click. Whatever. So I run in and it's all there. So the meat for the General Tsaos and sesame chicken was tough and chewy, but the regular and house fried rice were fantastic! And the crab Rangoon and 1 of 2 egg rolls were basic. 4/10. I ordered chicken with vegetables and vegetable mushu online. Specifically stated that I had an allergy to shellfish and fish in the comments section. After we picked up the food, I called to make sure the mushu sauce was free of shellfish and fish. I was then told that the mushu was not allergen free, and the same went for the chicken fried rice! They never called to tell me the food was cooked in the same wok regardless of the protein. When asking why they never called I simply got a "sorry" and was told they would refund the money. Major inconvenience. In the past their staff said that the food was safe for my shellfish/fish allergy. While the food is good, I cannot trust this restaurant again. Never going here again! The food is good, but customer service sucks! I ordered my food at 5:31 and was told 15 minutes. It was about 6 when I got there and was told I never called. The girl tried to make it look like it was my fault and asked if I called the right number and said that I didn’t talk to her. I showed her my phone that had their correct number and the time I called! She never apologized and never offered to give me anything for free for inconvenience of having to wait another 10 minutes for my food! An apology would have been nice, not being blamed for...
