2 major issues here, the FOOD, namely the sushi, and the RESTROOM.
The FOOD. I went there last night and I had 3 rolls the spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and eel. My significant other had the sesame chicken. The sesame chicken was decent, standard Chinese food fare, but the sushi rolls were just plain disgusting. The raw fish was very slimy and fishy and the eel tasted like a dirty sponge. I only ate about 5 pieces of my 18 piece sushi plate before calling it quits, then I went to the restroom to wash my hands.
THE RESTROOM alone, not just the food, is enough to discourage myself in the future from buying from Ichiban, and it may discourage you. Every surface in the bathroom is covered in a greasy grime, the door handles, toilet handle, and lightswitch have an even thicker, black polymer-like grime that is probably years of greasy hands buildup. And the smell. The only way I can describe the smell is like someone hot farted through a pillowcase full of wet lo mein noodles.
If the workers are using this same restroom, and by evidence it appears they are, then I feel like I'm doing a public service to tell you to never eat there, on risk of getting...
Read moreI wasn't going say anything more than a poor rating but I’ve come back because it was so bad, it deserves comment. It’s usually a huge treat for us to be in the area and eat from Ichiban. Our favorite Chinese place. But we got takeout at 6:30pm Wed., 4-23-25, chicken fried rice and a couple of simple sushi rolls. The rice was JUST rice. There was an occasional thread of what we assume was shredded chicken but it was so thin it looked more like the rice and not even large enough to taste chicken. It had a different texture than the rice, so we assume it was chicken. And there was barely evidence of onion and no other veggies to it. The sushi rolls were more the size of a short taquito. Paid $40 for maybe $2 worth of food. We’re perplexed what the issue may have been but it wasn't good. And I never write reviews. I just couldn't let...
Read moreI had their 3 roll special, where you choose from a variety of either deep fried, cooked, and raw sushi. I chose spicy tuna from the raw, eel from the cooked, and sweet potato from the deep fried. The sweet potato was the biggest surprise of the three; it was warm, crispy, and soft with awesome flavor. The spicy tuna was spot on for me, and I liked the avocado in with the eel. The sauce that was on the plate was a good compliment for the rolls, but they weren't needed. I happen to like wasabi with sushi, and theirs has a good flavor to it. We also had the Mongolian beef, which was excellent, and we also had the Rangoon. I got the miso soup, and it was nicely warm and tasted good. Not my first time eating their food, and definitely won't...
