The only thing saving this place for me was that the food was delicious and well portioned. Reading the other reviews I see things don't seem to change, the important things. Our server was just unpleasant from the get go. Asked about drinks and first two I asked they didn't have so she flips menu over aggressively and says this is what we have. Left no straws. Her appearance, clothes, were dirty and unprofessional looking as was the other server. I watched the other server greet and talk to a table of two women and you could tell by look on customers face that she was not impressed with the service either. When she remembered she didn't give us straws, she pulled out a straw where the wrapper was coffee stained and gave it to me. Eww no. It was overly hot in there but bathrooms were freezing. Humidity was high, which I get its a restaurant. But the humidifer that was by the table was dirty, and broken in spots. When I felt the air kick on we noticed dust bunnies flying down to our table. When I looked up I observed that all the light fixtures are caked in dust. Restaurant just is not as clean as it should be. Ripped booths. Not impressed. Makes me wonder about the kitchen...
ย ย ย Read moreToday at Coney Island, I had a disappointing experience. I am not usually one to write bad reviews but with COVID-19 and the risk of exposure to customers, I thought I should right a public review to let others know. When I walked in, I was at first pleased that the waitresses were all wearing masks, however I soon saw that the cooks were not. No gloves either. In the midst of a global pandemic you would think precautions such as mask and glove wearing would be a given, but I guess if I had to choose one, out of all the people wearing masks or gloves, I would rather it be the people making my food than the waitresses. As I looked at the one cook grabbing the fries with his bare hands and putting them on a plate, coughed, and itched his nose, I was confused and almost angry. I really couldn't understand it. I then said something to the hostess when I was given the response, "Sorry," and that's it. Not to mention Governor Whitmer just put out an order that masks are mandatory. I was really disappointed with the lack of responsibility this...
ย ย ย Read moreI made a call to see if they had a plate on the menu and I couldn't hear her response. I asked again and she got mad and sat in silence until I said, "mam... are you still there?" She answered in a stern voice and it was such a turn off to hear... I will not be going back here today or anyday with my friends (party of 4) we will go across street to American table where we've been before and very sweet, food is excellent and noone treating you like your in trouble at the principles office at school. What a darn bummer to have to change plans for 4 to meet next door because I wouldn't want to eat with such attitude makes me wonder about food. I gave them a 3 because I have eaten their food and it was good, place was clean ... lots of parking... handicap welcoming...... but rude and nasty disposition of worker there and wouldn't want to trust them especially today. Moods change so tomorrow might be okay there, but to many great places to go close by I'd rather be in positive environment than that gloomy crummy treatment. So a 3 in all...
