Good food but HORRIBLE service. As a customer I made a mistake ordering online because my kids were rushing me. 15 min after the quoted time I called the store ASKING if it got through and everything because it had not been DELIVERED yet. I was told they “SAW” my order and that it should be delivered soon as it was “coming OUT OF THE OVEN”. I was told they were “slammed” I again said “ ok, I just ordered ONLINE, so I wanted to make sure it got there and there wasn’t a PROBLEM “ My phone call then got disconnected-not by me.
Waited an hour, no food. So I called AGAIN. Was told “it wasn’t on the shelf, so it MUST be out for delivery. To expect it in 15-20 min” I even gave my name and SPELLED it out.
Went outside to wait. 15 min later a missed call showed up. I tried to call back, tried to call the store multiple times. No answer, at all. So I drove up. I don’t live far.
Came in to ask & no one was at the front or anywhere. A min later a person came from the bathroom area & I said I called several times and where was my food. The person snatched the ticket from the food on the shelf and started telling me it was my fault and to be mad at myself because I ordered it for pick up online. I then asked why when I called no one said that. He then tried to tell me they called me multiple times (only one missed call). I then told him I put a tip on the order, I thought it was delivery and why when I called did no one tell me because I would have come up and got it at THAT time. He then told me he didn’t have time to check every ticket to see when someone calls, lots of people tip on pick ups. I repeated then why was I told it was out for delivery the last time I called. Again, he answered indignantly, not offered even an apology but more nastiness as he turned to the other employee working and asked if he talked to me. He looked scared and answered that yes he remembered talking to me. When I made a comment that the food was probably cold I was told it was sitting under the heat lamp. It was cold. I then said what really bothers me is you didn’t even apologize at all. He then held up the receipt again & told me to be mad at myself.
Clearly at this point I saw that he didn’t care. I took my food (didn’t even get my 2 liter I paid for) and made a few unkind comments about not ordering and this was likely the reason “Twisted Tomato” didn’t want to be associated with them anymore.
I’m ALL for supporting my local Downtown businesses ESPECIALLY non-franchised privately owned businesses but this company will not get another chance with me. I will also be sharing this poor experience with everyone I have recommended this place to (which I had prior to this) and anyone else that will listen. I don’t normally do bad reviews or share bad experiences because I do believe people have bad days but this one wasn’t about a bad day. This is clearly not some place I EVER want to do business with again with people who have such horrible ways of treating customers.
