Donut Palace — Restaurant in Beeville

Through the years my church's bus would stop by the Donut Palace to get donuts for the kids we had picked up, the previous owners had always given us a couple bags of donut holes free since we'd buy about 3 or 4 dozen donuts. I'd usually get a croissant since they offered those as well as other breakfast items. The other day I went by after work and ordered a sausage, egg and cheese croissant like I used to get and they put it in the microwave for me to go. They're great people and they've got great food. I've came here before. Usually around 12:00 - 1:00 PM, they always had really good donuts. Nothing super crazy. But delicious none the less. I decided since I was up at 5 am anyways, to go get some. I got a glazed and an applefritter. And my gosh, the difference a few hours makes. The glazed was warm and gave in so easily due to how soft it was. It had a creamy flavor to the dough, NOT the glaze, the dough. Heaven.

And the applefritter is so fresh, I can literally still taste the warm apples in it! Freshly baked is definitely the way to go. The earlier the better.
