La Herradura Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Beeville

Never realized this place was here, but glad I found it! The taco salad was more flavorful than any other I’ve had in quite some time. The facility is clean and the service was excellent! The young man was on top of it, checked back with us regularly and let us know we were welcome to hang out there for awhile since it started to pour while we were eating. My hubby got the carnitas plate and he always judges a restaurant by the carnitas- he was very pleased. We both ate, had large teas in to go cups and it was less than $27. Took the long way back to San Antonio from Padre Island and we realized we were very hungry as we got close to Beeville. Stopped at La Herradura and had some of the best food we've had in a long time. Wife had the parrillada and the shrimp, steak and chicken were seasoned perfectly. Service was very fast and the waitress was very attentive. Ate way too much, but I knew we would likely never be back (visiting from out of state) and we wanted to make sure we enjoyed as much as we could. The place is a good size with decent parking. The food is good. The only reason I deducted stars was because apparently you cannot substitute the rice and beans in a child’s plate for french fries. I have never been to a restaurant that did not allow that. We were told that it would have to be charged as a side of fries. I agreed because my child does not eat rice and beans.
