I hate to give bad reviews but I don't think I've ever had an experience like this..
I will start off by saying that the garlic knot rolls they serve as a complimentary appetizer are actually pretty good. They made me think that everything was going to be good and I should have tried the restaurant before.. I was wrong about that.
The waitress quickly showed that she wasn't very interested in taking care of us. We got our orders in and when the salads came the lettuce on the house salads was brown. Not a little bit, but totally wilted and brown discoloration all over. The Caesar salad was a different type of lettuce and it was fresh but almost entirely white inner pieces and no green leafy lettuce. The Caesar dressing was horrible with a weirdly sweet flavor, definitely unlike anything I've had and not in a good way. When the birthday girls sent their house salads back for not being fresh they asked if there was any other lettuce and the waitress replied no and that the other lettuce was only for the caesar. I understand that changes take time but the dressing came on the side for the caesar, so after serving brown wilted lettuce one might assume that the staff would fix it by plating the fresh lettuce and serving it with a side of ranch instead. But the waitress just replied okay, and took the salads away with no discount.
I ordered the dish that comes with fettuccine Alfredo, lasagna, and chicken parmesan. All were practically inedible. Lacking flavor and slightly cold. I've hardly ever eaten a tv dinner, but the few I've had were far better than all three items. The fettuccine Alfredo was absolutely bland and the noodles were so overcooked they were like mush. The lasagna was cold in the middle and tasted like a can of tomato sauce with no seasonings. And the chicken parmesan was definitely a frozen pre breaded and reheated breast that once again was slightly cold and horrible tasting.
I see some good reviews here so perhaps I went on an off night, but it was so bad I definitely won't be spending my money there. The service was weird because the waitress acted nicely but absolutely showed no sign of caring to provide us with a nice experience. If you are looking for some garlic knots head on...
Read moreWe have been eating here for almost 2 months since we came to Beeville for work. There have been at least three times that I can remember that I have called to make an order and the girl that's at the register hands the phone to somebody else without telling me anything and the person who she handed the phone to gets on the phone and is totally confused as to what is going on. I just now tried to make an order with that same girl and she hung up on me halfway through my order but first she said "what the heck?!!" Then hung up on me. This is the second time I had called because the first time I was hung up on before I could even say anything. After this happened I tried to call back three times and she would pick up the phone and hang it up. I finally got hold of someone and they were trying to say that they weren't her but they had the exact same voice. I asked to speak to someone else and they refused to do that. They have my callback number and no one has bothered to call me back to ask if I still want to make an order. We have overlooked quite a bit with this restaurant including the time where we were trying to have a nice dinner just my husband and I and one of the workers had her kids they're running around and screaming and jumping up and down the whole time. I'm not really sure what's going on with these people but they must not like money because we used to spend $60 to $80 a week at this place. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone even though their food is really good. They have horrible customer service, so bad that I can't even make an order over the phone so that I can pick it...
Read moreBeen here twice.
First time I had chicken pesto with broccoli. Pesto was more oil than basil, broccoli was almost raw, chicken was over cooked and tough as leather - I ate around the chicken.
Second time I had the Pasta Sempler (lots of typos on the menu, their lack of attention to detail should have been a red flag). Lasagna and two other stuffed pasta items covered in canned tomato sauce and cheese such that they were indistinguishable from each other. Tasted slightly better than the frozen lasagna dishes from Walmart you bake yourself.
Both times the service was absolutely horrible. The high-school kids who wait the tables have zero knowledge of the menu and no idea what customer service is. I mentioned the tough chicken the first time and she said "Oh, I'll tell them", walked off and no other mention of my dissatisfaction was made. Second time it was 15 minutes after the waitress brought me a to-go box until the next time she stopped by to ask if I wanted the check. My water was never refilled either.
Roma's is slightly below average on their best day, on average it's garbage. It's pretty...
