On Sunday October 15 my husband and I got a babysitter and decided to celebrate our 10 year anniversary together at a place we really liked, La Casita Mexicana. We were excited because we never ever get time alone.
We left our house at 2:45 and decided to call La Casita Mexicana to see if we needed reservations. A going lady answered the phone sounding a bit rushed. We asked if we needed reservations. She said yes because it was Sunday and full. My husband asked her how long the wait time was and she said she couldn’t really tell us. Before he could actually make the reservation, she hung up. I thought that was weird and must have been a mistake. I called back and said I wanted to make reservations for 3:15 because we were already on our way. She said “3:30?” I said no, “3:15”. She asked for my phone number and hurriedly and rudely responded, “inside or outside?!” I said, “outside.” She then said ok and hung up AGAIN.
I tried to brush it off because I’ve never had a bad experience here. I thought, they must be really busy. A minute later I got a text saying a reservation was made for 3:30. 🤦🏽♀️
When we arrived a young lady with fake lips and a HUGE attitude asked us if we had reservations. I said, “yes, we made them for 3:15, outside.” She then said they were full outside and we could pick a table inside. I looked around and it was NOT busy at ALL. We sadly picked a table by the bar. The outside patio is so nice, it was a beautiful day outside and we were wanting to celebrate and eat in a more romantic setting.
My husband got up to use the restroom after we ordered drinks. He then can back and said, “lets go sit outside .” I was surprised because the lady had said it was full. When I walked back there, I was shocked to see the the back patio area was nearly empty. This rude lady has been lying the whole time.
I asked her why she lied, she looked uncomfortable and gave my a super rude response and attitude and she snapped , “because it’s Sunday, we get full and I didn’t want to give away a table for 4 to two people.” She turned fast and started walking away when I said, “but, it’s empty.” She turned and rolled her eyes at me.
My family and I have been there countless times. We’ve always loved the food and service. We have celebrated birthdays there, anniversaries and we have always been happy going and giving our hard earned money to this establishment. When my family goes, we order appetizers, drinks, food, etc… We spend $$$.
Unfortunately, I’m sad to say this was our last time going. I have a large family with 8 brothers and sisters who have supported this place. We will no longer go as I will send this review to everyone. I’m very dissatisfied and disappointed in the manner in which we were treated.
There was absolutely no excuse for this lady to be so rude and disrespectful. I’m sure I’m not the first or last person this hostess has turned away from this restaurant.
I really hope this review is shown to her….

Read moreOn August 15, 2013, I visited La Casita Mexicana in the city of Bell. I was craving for authentic Mexican Mole with a homemade feel to it. Before anything I checked out the reviews on Google, and Yelp to see what the average response was to its food and service. For every ten reviews there was one bad review in which out three hundred and seventy six it was really good. The restaurant was in a small city that was not well maintained or tourist friendly and if you did not know about the back door parking you would need to park in the heavily trafficked street.
Coming into La Casita Mexicana was actually really refreshing but that was it. In the back of La Casita there was a gang of employees having a conversation and frolicking around with their black uniforms. We were assisted a few minutes once they spotted us but not with the enthusiastic manner you would expect from a well review establishment. When the waitress got to the door, she just grabbed two menus and started to walk towards the tables in the back with no greeting what so ever to make us feel welcomed. Coming in the place, I was greeted by the warm surrounding and decorative restaurant, but that was it. Many of the walls are bright with beautiful art and history that it was very unique to any restaurant. The tables where all covered in bright color cloth with glass on top of it and old deep colored chairs to match and the dark tile floors to complete the Mexican filled environment. Once seated and the menus handed out the waitress just skirted herself off without asking if we wanted a drink. It was not a busy day and they were not understaffed what so ever more like overstaffed and nothing to do in little old La Casita Mexicana.
We waited for fifteen to twenty minutes till we got asked what we wanted to drink and eat now add another thirty-five to forty-five minutes until we received our food. Through the time we waited the watermelon drinks and mole covered tortilla chips arrived in they are delicious. Our order was Three Moles Enchiladas it consist of mole poblano, red and green pepian with some rice and the Three Meat Dish that has a combination of beefsteak, chorizo, and beef cicina with beans and a cactus wrapped cheese. Once the food had arrived, I needed a refill on my watermelon drink in which it was ignored a few times until they were asked to fill it up for again. The Enchiladas where plain and tasteless; however, the mole was delicious but the portions where not enough for my appetite. The Three Meat dish was just that a three meat dish nothing special other than a jaw tiring texture and plain taste. I wanted to try out the dessert, but with my experience with everything so far I declined and requested my bill. I love flan never turn it down but adding everything together it felt like it would have been a failure...
Read moreReserved a table for a Father's Day dinner with the family and I very much loved everything about it except one. First the things that we did like about the restaurant, we were able to reserve a table for 11 of us and we were warmly greeting as soon as we walked in, they had our table set up and right away we were able to put in our order for drinks. I had a cafè de olla which was amazingly good! Others in our table had lemonade with chia and they all said it was refreshing and not too sweet. I had the enchiladas with creamy chipotle sauce and I was so happy I did, the enchiladas were stuffed with chicken and were drenched with the creamy chipotle sause topped with sliced avocado with a side of white rice. The sause was creamy and light and the chipotle was just perfectly balanced, so not to spicy. Everything went so well together and I absolutely will probably order this dish again when we are back. My husband ordered queso fundido which is pretty much another version of fondue but this was better. It had herbs mixed in and was served with a side of red sause that was almost not spicy at all. It went very well with the cheese and the homemade corn torillas that they served with it. The tortillas were thin and soft and tasted fresh. We all enjoyed our dishes and not one of us where disappointed in the quality of the food or the service. Our waiter apologized for a bit of a delay in the kitchen but we didnt think that it was a huge deal. They were busy because of the Father's Day crowd and we always felt we were catered to when ever we needed something. I'll add that they had live music and it was a little bit loud for some of us who were trying to have conversations with each other from across the tables but we were group of eleven and at the end of it all we all enjoyed the music and singing. Now for the one thing that I didn't like about the restaurant is that they only have one bathroom for all guest. One bathroom for Male and Females and it was a hassle to keep an eye out for the line to wind down and well it was hard with two smaller kids in the group. Over all it was great and I would...
