Iâve come here several times for coffee and have been consistently underwhelmed. Most shops in the area generally serve under extracted medium to dark roast coffee anyways so I donât blame them for catering to the demand.
The previous time however I bought loose leaf tea from them and was impressed by the ginger turmeric. I had bought 6-8 ounces at an average price for loose leaf (I canât remember exactly how much). I was happy that at least there was a redeeming quality to the place, along with the decent baked goods.
Today however I come in asking for 6 ounces of loose leaf ginger turmeric. The question itself confused the girl who took my order, and eventually we settled on paying for 6 cups worth of tea (she tells me that they use 1 oz per order of tea, which is already an insane statement). After more deliberation she says sheâll charge me for 4 orders of tea for $14, which Iâm assuming is the equivalent for what Iâm asking for. She goes back and weighs out the tea and then hands me a small packet of tea, which very clearly does not feel right by weight. I ask if it was actually 6 ounces and if she had weighed it, and she said yes, but that she can give me more. I said fine, it was clearly not 6 ounces so more was definitely in order, especially after paying $14 for it. She comes back and it feels like double the weight (still not close just by feeling the heft) and I took it and left, I didnât want to push the issue further. I decided I would go home and weigh it on my scale, which I use every day weighing out grams and ounces for my daily coffee and teas.
Sure enough it wasnât 6 oz, it was 2.6 oz. And it seems as though if I didnât say anything I wouldâve been charged $14 for 1 oz, which 2.6 oz for $14 is too much as it is.
All in all it was a disappointing experience. I donât blame her though, it seems she and the guy who was behind the counter both were unaware of how to sell loose leaf, so itâs not their fault. Either way, Iâd rather avoid going there...
Read moreWow! The company's name says it all. This coffee company is undeniably Belleairian. (Belleairese?) I've been to the majority of this county's coffee shops and this one is not just another. Firstly, its logo is the smartest I've seen in a long while. Perfect graphic design and typography. Classy and simple. Can't pass that by without a mention. Plenty of outlets. Plenty of seating--couch and cushioned chairs, a long sturdy dining table, raised bar seating and cafe tables. The furniture, I must say, is FINE! Very Belleair. Marble, iron-wrought, and wood. The music? Classy and bright smooth jazz. So Belleair. The wifi is not kidding around. Multiple wireless routers. Strong signal throughout the place. I just played a video on Youtube and there wasn't a second of buffering time. The space is big and open with big windows and the people are all friendly. I asked for a macchiato which wasn't on the menu but they made it for me anyways. I ordered the last egg soufflÊ which was a perfectly portioned light breakfast. They offered a free sample of some fancy lemonade. It was all great. I'm coming back. A lot, though. I'm having a premonition that this coffee house just won a long future of me returning as a repeating customer. This will be where I go to work on my laptop from now on. They are obviously trying to do an exquisite job here, in a town of high standards, and they are succeeding. Exceeding, even. As I type this review the owner is moving about planning enthusiastically some addition to the furniture or a gallery or something. I like this place.
In summation: this is marvelous.

Read moreBelleair Coffee Company & Roastery is a gem of a local coffee shop! From the moment I walked in, I could tell this place was special. They roast their own beans, & the selection of single-origin coffees is impressive. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly, making excellent recommendations based on what I was looking for.
I ended up trying the iced mocha, and it was absolutely fantasticâsmooth, rich, and perfectly balanced. I also ordered a flat white, which is a rarity to find done right at most coffee shops. But hereâŚthey nailed it. It was perfectly crafted, with the ideal amount of milk and espresso.
To top it off, I tried the Swiss and bacon quiche on the staffâs recommendation. I'm usually not a fan of Swiss cheese, but this quiche completely changed my mind. It was delicious, & with a touch of hot sauce (that I added), it was even better! The shop was spotless, with a cozy and welcoming atmosphere that made me want to stay all day.
Highly recommend Belleair Coffee Company & Roastery if you're looking for high-quality coffee, great food, and excellent service. I'll...
