UPDATE: Now they are back as a friend of the owner now runs the business. Maybe once the building owner steps back and doesn't "help out", I might give it another chance. I hope proper food handling is one of the things the new business owner learns and excels at. That said, some recent reviews are not sounding very positive at all. Too bad as they got front page top fold "reporting" in the local blabber.
UPDATE: They are now CLOSED DOWN. They claim lack of employees. At least I don't have to worry about getting sick. Too bad as the food quality wasn't bad. If he reopens, hopefully he fixes that problem and since he's Vietnamese, perhaps cooking some of their cultural specialties might diversify his business. Cleanliness of the people handling raw/cooked products was my only complaint. His being bitter at me for complaining might be poetic justice?
I've never been back after I had to report them to the health department. Sad as I never had a problem with the quality of what they do sell. However, when cashier after taking your money won't use tongs when back in the kitchen, it's no wonder some of the comments here refer to illness after eating. To be fair, they are not alone as I have experienced the problem elsewhere. For any of these places, would you want me to mishandle your food? Just because an egg roll is cooked in boiling oil doesn't excuse you from needing to handle it properly. Until this happened, the experience was great and one can only hope that one day, I might be willing to try them again...
Read moreThe food was okay. My order was wrong, but I would have given it another chance if not for the following interaction: We were given bowls for our soup. I returned the bowls to the man at the front, a Caucasian man in a white chef coat. The bowls had dishwasher soap residue and powder. He returned with 2 Styrofoam containers, and told us that we could cut them in half and use them as bowls. He stated that he gave us Styrofoam to use as bowls because the people in the back don't speak any English and he didn't feel like arguing with them. It was their fault the bowls were dirty. Instead of maybe rinsing bowls himself and ensuring they were clean, he decided to give us poor service and then throw his BOTH under the bus for an issue everyone with a dishwasher has experienced. Not only was it completely unprofessional, it was racist.
There was literally 1 menu for the 3 adults in our group to look at, and the fountain drinks were terrible.
If I could give less stars based on that man's attitude I would. Don't...
Read moreSo I can't review food sadly. We entered the place wanting a delicious bowl of pho. We left disappointed and hungry. We were standing in front for ten minutes and no one came upfront. We waited and I went to the bathroom while we waited, the bathroom was so gross couldn't get the door to close and my feet stuck to the floor it reminded me of a danky dive bar bathroom. Trash everywhere I was told once by a restaurant friend, you can judge any food place by their bathrooms, mostly because the staff use it as well. But also as a cleanness theory. So that was really scary. Then waited another five minutes and still no one we almost called in to see if someone would take our order over the phone after we called, but then another customer came in and we just took off after almost 20 minutes. Needless to say we won't be returning, if that place cant even keep a 5by 5 bathroom clean I would hate to see the kitchen. Sketchy to...
