This is probably one of the nicest dog parks I've been to. Belleville keeps up with it and it's kept fairly clean. There is plenty of agility equipment, sitting areas, space, and mature trees. There's multiple water sources within the fenced-in park, and when I was there a small plastic pool and bucket were there for drinking/cooling off purposes. My Husky loved it and he got to run his little heart out. There are also separate areas for big and small dogs.
As a resident of Belleville, I only had to pay $24 for my dog. Any negative review on here is about paying the fee, and while no one likes paying for things that others offer for free, Belleville isn't charging as much as other communities who do the same thing. It does cost money to maintain parks and as pet owners, we get the small security that the other dogs are vaccinated and the owners are probably decent people who take care of their dogs (because most bad owners wouldn't likely spend money on their dog's recreation/well being). Plus the recreation staff is friendly and will give you a travel-friendly water bowl and a tennis ball for your pup. For a YEAR the fee is...
Read moreI can certainly say it is quite spacious and quite scenic. It's almost like entering a golf course, and the dogs tend to love all the free-roaming space, and the gates all around are quite secure to prevent accidental escape while being leash free. It even runs along the walking trail so your pets can meet their next visitors before entry. Even though there is a water zone I would still advise bringing your own water with the fact that the city sometimes shuts off the water on cold days and the water simply sprays into the air rather than flow for it is meant to cool them down on hot days rather than be drank from the looks of things. The hills are also quite excellent for exercising right next to...
Read moreGreat facility to have in your town. I would not have even considered owning the breed of dog I adopted without convenient access to this beautiful park. Large, fenced-in park area with two separate paddocks, trees, benches, agility equipment, and potable water spigots. Belleville works hard to keep landscaping and equipment maintained, which is a challenge with the volume of fast-paced play that park sees daily. I'd love to see restrooms, a serviceable water fountain, and possibly a dog-wash station but it's pretty great as is. The park IS access-controlled and has a small annual fee; that's not unheard of for many types of municipal parks. Best thing of all: my pup is always so...
