Leaving my old five star review in the back of this updated review... I'm upset to have to write this. Went in this evening for some food, after another local joint was closed. Our appearance was met with the similiar poor dinner service we are accustomed too. Place gets busy and is under staffed. That is entirely excusable when you consider the price and amazing food. Unfortunately, this time the experience was more than I could stomach. 10 minutes+ wait times on service. No stress, I opened a tab at the bar. I got my own Togo boxes. No stress...
When I went to use the facility and wash my hands before my meal arrived, I noticed there was no way to dry my hands, as the paper was out. This meant I couldn't open the door without touching the handle with wet hands before I go eat wings with those same hands. Luckily, a cook tried to enter as I left. I held the door open for him as I rewashed my hands to leave safely. I noted to him that I was holding the door with my foot because of the lack of towel. To his response "I get that." But I thought, fine. That happens. I watch him leave the restroom throwing his hands down to dry them. I see another employee ten minutes later do the same thing. Wow. But at least they washed their hands.
I informed my waitress of the issue, which she clearly cared not about. After 15 minutes not seeing her (for beer food or otherwise) I alerted the other waitress who was putting chairs up (Wednesday 9 45ish). She said she would get on it. 10 minutes would pass without her doing so. But our waitress was nowhere to be seen, so atleast we saw the other employee.
Had to go to the food window to get our bill and pay, with the other waitress of course.
Oh, and the condensation was falling from the vent, heavily, right on our table. We tried to take a different table, but were forbidden by the ( absent ) waitress.
So this was a rough night. We would have ordered more had we had a waitress that cared to stop by. We would have been more comfortable at a table not dripping with water. And would have been without a turned stomach, had we known that the cooks had the necessary tools to clean their hands (a bar bathroom for God sake!).
I do love this place, but hell if I can go back having such a sanitation concern. I've notify the health department of my concern.
Look. At every turn employees had the chance to correct issues. 4 times, they had a chance to fix the paper. Two employees watched water drip on our table. And a bartender watched as our waitress neglected us, necessitating our visit to her.
I'll take this review down if Candace or otherwise would like to respond. But this level of disrepair requires some level of action.
Great experience. Excellent prices, fantastic quality, and smooth service. We will definitely be adding this to our rotation. Standard bar food with a few exceptions. Deals everyday of the week, but usual prices are already pretty good.
Place also has a lot of room inside. Had live music Saturday night, a good talent.
All around great experience, will be back.

Not even my first time coming here, but will be my last. Unless you’re a regular, most of the staff ignores you and treats you like you’re not there. Patrons openly stare with hostility if you’re Black and not a familiar face.
The older, female bartender with the short, blonde haircut and glasses was VERY nice and gave excellent service when I ordered my food and she brought it out. I always enjoy being served by her when I happen to stop at the Corner.
The younger bartender with mousey brown hair gave poor service and was frankly rude and dismissive while I was waiting to order my beers. So were the other servers that were on the clock. Young bartender saw me sitting there, with no other customers asking for her attention, and ignored me until I called for her attention a second time. She wanted to continue chatting to her coworkers, I guess.
Now, onto the food. It was mid. I ordered the fried chicken wrap and onion rings. It didn’t taste like anything spectacular. The grease must have been old, because I got very sick about 1-2 hours after eating there. The only food I had had that day, by the way. I was up all last night throwing up and that other thing you do when you have food poisoning.
Save your money and go...
Read moreFirst time at the Corner Chill and Grill. Place was pretty busy. Parking lot filling up. Came in greeted quickly and said pick where you would like to sit.. cool 😎. Servers were working as a team.. one stopped by for our drinks. Came quickly to the table. Another working the floor came by for our food order. Again, good deal. 😎 ordered fried mushrooms 🍄 for an appetizer. Basket came to the table. It was a very good portion of mushrooms. Very happy. Ordered the tacos..it was Taco Tuesday. Wife ordered a Wainwright burger with the fixins and a side salad. Some chips and salsa showed up. The salsa was a surprise. I think it was the sweetest salsa I've ever had. Almost jelly like. Although different, kept trying it. Was getting a little heat on the back end. Strangely addictive. Wife's side salad came, it was a good portion also. Tacos 🌮 came. Loaded one up with condiments they have in basket... taco meat was sweet. Very different taco for my taste. I'm only speculating they use some of the sweet salsa in the meat mixture. Wife's Wainwright burger 🍔 was good. All in all the whole experience was very good. Just couldn't get past sweet tacos. We will be back.. Monday is...
