Rudy's Pastry Shop — Restaurant in Belleville

We chose Rudy’s because they were one of the options through our catering hall. This turned out to be a big mistake. I called months prior to order my cake, as I was instructed to do. A few days before my wedding I had a gut feeling telling me to follow up with them, so I called to make sure everything was in line for my wedding cake. When I told them the date, the person on the other end of the line said oh yes Amanda, right? And I said no... Sara. She then seemed very flustered and put me on hold for a long time before returning to assure me she found my order. I am not sure what would have happened if we I had not called.

After this I was sure everything would be fine, but I was wrong. On my wedding day I entered the room to see a cake that did not look like the one I ordered. I figured it was just a misunderstanding. When my cake was cut, though, I realized that I had received the wrong cake entirely. I ordered a funfetti cake (who doesn’t love a funfetti cake?) but I received someone else’s carrot cake. This was pretty disappointing considering all people seem to fall into one of two categories when it comes to carrot cake- love it or absolutely hate it. I had such a great experience with Rudy’s for our wedding cake! Our guests LOVED the cannoli cake and we received lots of compliments! The cake turned out exactly like the photos I sent over for inspiration. We had our wedding in May and it matched perfectly with our theme. Every time I emailed the staff with any questions they responded in a timely manner. Compared to other bakeries in the area the pricing was great and they even delivered the cake to our venue with no extra fees. Working with Rudy's Pastry Shop was a breeze! Our wedding venue gave us two bakery options for our wedding cake, one being Rudy's. Our tasting appointment with Rudy's was easy to make and they prepare 3 small cakes of your choice flavors to taste and take home with you. I am not a big sweet person, and do not normally care for cake, but Rudy's cake with the raspberry filling, wow! It was not too sweet and the bright tartness was perfect for our springtime wedding.
