Silver Lake Cheesesteak & Tacos — Restaurant in Belleville

Hands down, the best cheesesteak sandwich in north Jersey! I have been living in Newark for 8 years and have tried many, many cheesesteaks, hopping to find one that comes even close to the ones you find in Philly with no luck whatsoever. I’ve passed this place several times and last week a friend and I decided to finally check them out. It was so good, we ended up going back 2 nights later and got one for another friend while we were at it. They come with plenty of fresh delicious meat and you can order them the way you like it. My only complaint is that they don’t offer Cheez whiz like they do in Philly, but you can get Nacho cheese if you like. The staff is wonderful and so nice. I have found my go to place for cheesesteak sandwiches in Newark and will be back...

I love the small businesses in this strip. Fantastic barber across the street. A gem of a butcher a little bit down the way. And this grill here, which is welcoming and cozy. Conveniently located right next to the Silver Lake Light Rail Stop. They even had Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares on TV which is amazing.

I love the food here. I had a bistec (steak) torta, which was fresh and flavorful with lettuce, tomato, onion, jalapeno, salsa verde and a crispy bun to compliment. This place has been on my radar for some time now and I finally got to try it. I called in my order and a very nice man answered. He took my order and told me it would take about 15 minutes. I ordered the buffalo chicken steak sandwich. When I arrived I parked nearby. When I walked in I seen they did allow minimal indoor dining. My food was ready and the nice man gave me my food and took my payment. It came to a little over $11 including something to drink.

When I tasted the food I will say it was pretty good. I got the half and it was pretty big and inexpensive. All in all I had a good experience and would return...
