Racial Profiling Incident at Wawa Location 8441
Dear Wawa Management,
I am writing to formally address a distressing incident that occurred on September 1, 2025, at approximately 11:30 AM at your Wawa store located at 8441. My 13-year-old daughter and I entered the store as we frequently do, and she proceeded to fill her Stanley cup with a blue slushy while I went to the kiosk to place our food order.
To my dismay, I noticed a staff member watching my daughter and then reporting her actions to another employee at the food counter. A few moments later, I was approached by a food worker who insisted that we needed to pay for the cup. I was shocked by this aggressive approach, as I was on my way to pay for our order, and I felt it was unnecessary to confront us in that manner.
As I tried to explain that I would pay at the counter, I was met with dismissiveness from both the food worker and the manager, who shouted across the counter, insisting that my daughter had done something wrong. This made my daughter extremely uncomfortable, prompting her to come to me and share her distress.
Ultimately, I decided not to proceed with my order, feeling targeted and profiled. I even threw away the slushy in frustration and left the store. This experience has left my daughter with severe anxiety, and I am alarmed that my frequent patronage and spending at this location did not shield us from such treatment.
After contacting corporate, I received a $15 gift card and was assured that a district manager would reach out to me, but I have yet to receive any follow-up. I believe this matter warrants further attention, and I am considering taking additional steps to address it.

I’ve been meaning to leave a review but now I have an actual really great story to share so I was craving their caramel milkshakes. I ordered two on Uber eats along with some chips and brownie. My health is not great And the drink is supposed to be supplemented for a meal as I don’t eat so well I received a call after the order was filled from my number. I did not recognize. I answered it and it ended up being the manager at Wawa telling me my Uber driver forgot my drinks so I went ahead and messaged the driver to let him know he refused to turn around and get them, which is fine but today I ordered, and when I saw the bag, I chuckled because I know it has to be the same gentleman. I spoke to two days ago! It’s nuts but something as simple as a drink can really change somebody’s day You guys go above and beyond every day working with the public every employee there deserves a raise although I know that’s not possible they do deserve some form of admiration from management. Read moreSo, This is the closest WaWa location to me and it's a 20mins drive. So, I just purchased a 14" pizza from this particular WaWa location in Belleville, NJ. It was 1/2 mushroom and 1/2 pepperoni. They burn the pizza to a crisp. I waited at least 20mins before I got my pizza. When I got home to feed my family and open the pizza box, the pie was burn so badly that it was not edible. When I brought the pizza back and spoke with the manager, his excuse was that they were busy, so I'm guess it's ok to give customer a burn pizza because "they were busy". I had to tell him that regardless of being busy, the staff knew when the pizza came out of the oven burnt and the right thing to do is to inform the customer that they will need more time to remake, but that did not happen. They knowingly know that the quality of the pizza was badly made, but still put it in the box and gave to me. I was a royal customer until today.
