I'm originally from NY... Where the food is of a different taste and quality than im the south. I've grown tired of trying to find my favorite foods that make me think of home. I stopped buying pizza 🍕 altogether, gnocchi, Italian subs, Buffalo wings, Philly cheese steak, gyro, and pastas with sauce, have become alot less frequent in my life . Im tired of spending money only to be mildly satisfied by the taste. Blind luck had me running late to meet my best friend Racheal, and she was hungry, so I told her to go ahead and order me "whatever", especially because this was my first visit there. Upon arrival, I was informed that I had an Italian Sub coming and a small pizza to split. She knows my struggle is real... We eat out together all the time for about 4 years. She lives less than a mile from this restaurant, all her life and never ate there either. I accepted fate for what was to come.. a Bland meal . The waitress was Awesome, I'm sorry, I didn't get her name, but she is an expecting young mommy-to-be.. the tip wasn't enough for me, so I've kept her in my prayers every night since. I think we all know how this review ends. Look at how long this review is. A golden toasted treasure was laid before me.. I was talking as I flipped open the sandwich, hoping for the best.. the three meats that make it perfect. And true to southern style.. no cappicole.. which is a slightly spicy seasoned ham. It's replaced with Ham.. not a huge difference to most, But to a second generation Sicilian from NY.. it is black and white. Another ingredient that most miss is oragino and that is a deal breaker for me. It was heavy on this little guy.. which was sliced in 3 .. the best way to eat a long sandwich. Toasted to perfection, seasoned perfectly, and portioned generously but distributed so that when you bite on one end, a chunk of your sub isn't squeezing out of the other end, due to poor tomato placement (you need to put love into your cooking, because it really does make a taste difference) . Thank you.. Mr or mrs Unknown CHEF, you created a party in my mouth.
The pizza was thin... With a little show of oil on it... That caught my eye.. but I've seen nothing but false pizzas that look authentic in my years of wandering this great state. There is still alot more to a good slice of pizza ... Like strength of the dough verses bendability.. you want that slice to stand firm when you lift it but the tip of the slice has to weaken so that other oil cab slowly dropoff as you create an almost funnel holding the slice by each corner of the crust. You have to taste that cheese (muz and Parm) and that sauce has to be Italian tasting.. that first bite better have cheese stretching back to the slice, and you can see oragino and pepperoni that will be your next bite because the pizza is that good. No one gets it.. I mean, no one! Domino's, pizza hut papa John's.. all have stores in NY, yet the same stores here totally miss the mark.. Maybe it's the altitude, or distance from the equator.. a government conspiracy.. the same foods in the same chains have different tastes . But the real pizzas are still made at the local pizza parlor down on the corner. But, somehow ONLY this one particular local diner with an authentic feeling atmosphere reminiscent of Home, has kept it real in taste, mouth feel, smell, look, and JOY of real pizza! Clean bathroom! 👍 Clean dining area ? 👍 Worth driving to? 👍 Worth the price? 👍 Worth opening your mouth for? 👍 👍 👍 Racheal had a stromboli that looked exactly as it should, smelled better than it should. But I was too involved in my bliss to even think of any other...

A friend and I had supper here on a Sunday evening. This was the only local non-chain restaurant open at the time, it seems. For an appetizer we ordered mozzarella sticks, which cost $6.99, were promptly served to us with our drinks, and were very good. Iced tea was well-brewed, and the waitess sent us home with to-go cups. We were only able to eat one stick each before our meals were served, that's how fast they were. I had the $12 lasagna special, which came with a side salad. My friend had the steak Stromboli, which also cost $12, if I recall. The Stromboli was huge and took up the whole plate, and my friend--who is about a foot taller and 100 lbs heavier than me--was not able to finish the whole thing in one sitting, that's how generous it was. It looked better than my lasagna, so I wish I'd ordered that instead. Regardless, the lasagna was delicious. Our tab ran us about $44. In the moment it would seem the math didn't quite math, but maybe that was due to sales tax and the 3% credit card fee. It's not in my nature to haggle over prices, so whatever.
Would definitely recommend, and would...
