Wanted so badly to like this place. It's clean and welcoming, with cozy aesthetics. For the record, I've given it multiple chances, but eventually, you have to accept that you're getting the best they have to offer.
Ordered a breakfast burrito and a breakfast bowl this morning. There MIGHT have been 1 full egg split between the two dishes, but that's being generous. Burrito consisted of a quarter of a piece of bacon, a teaspoons worth of eggs, a few black beans, and a pound of cheese and salsa. Terrible. Breakfast bowl is served in a sytrafoam bowl size of a ramekin and is 90% unseasoned grits.
I'm not sure what is going on w/ their coffee, but it is always weak and old tasting. Based on the quality of the food ingredients, I can only assume it's due to extremely low quality/cheap beans.
You would think that the waffles would save the experience based on the emphasis they put on them - sadly, they are equally as underwhelming as the rest of it. There is nothing special about them. No special batter or preparation method. If you have had a waffle from the continental breakfast at a cheap hotel/motel, then you've already had a waffle from Cornerstone. Always underdone, overly soft, and too chewy. Toppings are extremely mid.
Love the location, and the staff is super super friendly. Very welcoming place. Unfortunately, the price and quality do not come close to...
Read moreMy husband and I decided to stop by this cafe after he had checked out the good reviews and menu online. It did not disappoint! Super cute, little quaint cafe with loads of seating. You can sit in a booth, the couch area up front or tables in the back. Lots of historical pics and sayings on the walls adding to that cozy feel.
Abby was our server and she was awesome! Very funny and helpful! We ordered a coconut latte (which was perfect, I was mad I didn’t get that one for myself lol) and I had their Xmas latte I believe it was called. With white chocolate and peppermint. Although I liked my husband’s more, mine was still tasty & hot. & the cute handwritten sayings on them was a nice touch! We also ordered waffle sandwiches which comes with egg and cheese with choice of ham, bacon or sausage. We both got the city ham on ours which was really good! We also had a side of sausage which had a nice flavor.
My husband wanted to see what their waffles were about since it seemed like that was their jam based on the reviews and menu. He ordered the maple bacon waffle and killed it! It was hot, fresh & tasty.
Huge thanks to Abby our waitress! She definitely made the experience that much more wonderful. The southern hospitality has been outstanding during our...
Read moreI stopped by this morning after getting off work and going by the library to pick up the book I had reserved, and I decided “let’s grab a bite to eat at this cute little corner coffee shop.” I went in, and was welcomed and told to sit wherever I liked. So I sat in the booth closest to the door. My server, Coral, I believe was her name, was super super nice and polite, and she gave off very good energy and vibes. After taking a few moments to look over the menu and decided what I wanted, she came back and I asked her about the soup of the day, and she told me it was (I believe it was called) the steak and ale chowder? It sounded pretty delicious, so I go ahead and order the combo of that and the 1/2 of a sandwich. I (naturally) ordered a grilled cheese. I sat there and read my book until it came out, which wasn’t very long at all! I started digging in, and the food was amazing!!! I will definitely be recommending this cute little cafe to everyone I can, and I will spread positive words about this place and their food! Yes it’s a bit pricey, but it’s a coffee shop, y’all. It’s not gonna be ‘McDonald’s’ cheap. I say it’s definitely worth...
