If I could give zero stars I would. We have now had two experiences of the worst customer service ever.
Experience in restaurant: Last month we sat in the restaurant. They took our order right away, then the delays started... There were only 3 other couples dining in the restaurant but they continued to prioritize take out orders over ours. Then after 45 minutes they finally brought my wife’s dish and said mine was coming right up…. Another 45 minutes had passed, my wife finished her dish, and three times the waitress came over to tell us my food was almost there. By the way, I had ordered sashimi, so it’s not like it was a complicated dish to cook. So now we are at 1.5 hours since the original order and my food still hasn’t arrived. We asked for the check and they were barely apologetic, didn’t offer any accommodation or discount. Just said that they were busy…
So, we ordered out tonight, figuring the sushi is decent and they at least prioritize take outs over dine-ins. We’ll, boy was I wrong. Low and behold, 20 minutes after the latest side of the delivery window had passed, the driver texted us saying he had been waiting in Mainichi’s to pick up our order and they were refusing to even give him an ETA. I called Mainichi and they couldn’t have been more rude. I asked if we could just cancel the order and they said, “no, we just started making yours so you can’t cancel now, it will be out in a minute…” Food finally arrived 45 minutes late.
I have had bad customer service before, but am appalled at this restaurant and it’s reviews. The sushi is fine, but there are a couple of other spots on Solano and on Arlington that are just as good and actually care about...
Read moreOur dinner night was ruined a week ago when we left Mainichi hungry after sitting there and receiving no food for almost one hour. I see in past reviews this kind of delay and bad customer service is common. The management should train and emphasize to staff the right order of service. Here’s what happened:
We arrived just before 8pm and it was busy. We waited for our table to be cleaned but it sat dirty with the staff member doing other things while we waited. After we sat down, there was a long wait before anyone came to our table to take our order. We noticed the young tall waitress with long hair take the order of a table who sat down AFTER us and start to walk away so we called “excuse me!” and she came back and took our order. This was about 8:10pm.
At 8:40 we still didn’t have any food and then our simple cucumber salad arrived. At almost 9pm, closing time, our sushi still had not arrived. We saw tons of takeout orders coming to get their food before us. Why prioritize those and leave your guests sitting and waiting hungry?
Finally our waitress rode past our table on her scooter (?!) leaving out the door as it was almost closing time. We went to inquire about our food since it was almost an hour since we arrived and found out it had not even been started so we had to cancel it and leave hungry. The staff didn’t even seem to care.
Isn’t there anyone in charge here making sure things are working? That the server is looking after her tables and people are being served and helped in the order they came?
I hope the management sees this so they can share these simple expectations and procedures with their staff and implement some actual...
Read moreMy partner and I enjoyed our late lunch here! The layout of the restaurant felt very open and airy because of the huge windows that were open. We ordered three different rolls- the lobster, spider fantasy, and spicy crunch roll. While we were waiting, they brought us salad and miso soup which was really nice of them. Two of the rolls were HUGE and everything tasted fresh. The lobster roll had lots of chunks of fried lobster on top which was fun. After we finished, they brought us each a cut up orange as dessert! Overall it was a relaxing and delicious lunch experience. I would recommend checking out this restaurant and supporting a new...
