Just went to Peace for the first time, right as they were closing for the evening. No worry, the owner was super nice and happy to prepare a takeout order. The food is ordered in a prie fixe menu style where you choose a size (small, medium, large) and then pick among a few options of things you’d like. I got the large to share two ways, which included a lentil soup, salad, cooked squash and other root vegetables, leafy greens, rice, and adzuki beans…honestly a great amount of food for $21. I also got a side of momo ($9 for 6), which were delicious. It was all very good! Having the feel of a healthy, home-cooked meal, not too heavy, and offering a nice complement to restaurants that go heavy on flavor but probably aren’t the best for you if eaten too often. All the food is vegan and organic, with a Tibetan emphasis. I’m not vegan, but there was really nothing unusual among the menu items that I wouldn’t normally be very happy to eat. The ambiance inside is beautiful, so I’d definitely like to come back sometime and have dinner in person.

Wish I could visit here every day. We come from Orinda to enjoy this quiet, very clean and welcoming sanctuary with such delicious and nourishing food. We always have the "generous" plate along with the momo dumplings and fresh rolls. Each item has its own unique sauce from mushroom to tofu leek to sweet beet dressing which adds the most scrumptious flavors. Each day there will be a fresh green salad, a cooked greens dish such as collard greens, a cooked vegetable such as beets with radishes, a grain such as rice with quinoa, and a bean dish such as black eyed peas or lentils. Each meal also comes with a bowl of hot soup such as lentil or split peas, tea and water. Just think of how much work goes into preparing all of these different dishes- the cleaning, chopping, cooking and flavoring. Believe me, the flavorings are everything, it is special and so appreciated.

Food was incredible tasting--plant based organic whole foods cooked with little to no oil. Healthy and hearty! We shared the "momos" steamed veggie dumplings and had the modest (medium) plate. The plate featured delicious millet pilaf, collards with a shitake leek sauce, yellow split peas, mixed steamed veggies with a different succulent sauce, and spring mix salad with a fruity dressing. YUM! After that, there was no room for the tempting desserts! I wish this place was closer to my house because I'd be there weekly. The atmosphere is very pleasant too. Pros: Food was delicious, Food was healthy & organic, Owner was very kind and service was excellent

Wow, I'm not normally a fan of super healthy food, but everything we got from this place was amazing!! My partner has been on a health kick and even though I wasn't sure about trying this place, I decided to give it a go.

I called in an order for pick-up and the person at the phone was very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Generous to split with my partner, which is the soup plus all five of the entrees. I realized as I got home that I should definitely have gotten two orders as I was starving and could have eaten everything.

Especially since everything was SO good! The entire meal looked very fresh and colorful, which was lovely.

The soup was the French Lentil and Mixed Vegetables -- amazing. Exactly what I needed on that chilly day.

The other entrees were:

Rice Patty with Onion and Shiitake Sauce -- I wasn't sure what this was but it was just that. A patty of rice with onion and shiitake sauce. It was my favorite!

Pinto Beans with Garlic and Onion -- Simple but delicious!

Sautéed Burdock, Carrots, Daikon, Green Beans, and Red Beets with Dill, Ginger, and Onion -- Okay, I wasn't sure about this one because I don't like beets and I'm picky when it comes to veggies as I like it cooked where it's soft but not too soft. Well, this was just that! And whatever seasoning they used was very good. It actually reminded me of my grandma's cooking. Perfect.

Collard Greens and Kale with Brown Mushroom and Kabocha Sauce -- Whatever sauce they used for this was BOMB. I also don't tend to like collard greens very much but I ate this upppp.

Mixed Greens with Avocado, Basil, Lemon Juice, and Agave Dressing -- The dressing for this? chef's kiss

All in all, this place was a 12/10. I would definitely recommend it, and this is, again, coming from someone who normally doesn't like eating "healthy" food. But this place showed me that fresh, healthy food can definitely be hearty and delicious. I can't wait to come back...

I came in for an early lunch. I was greeted by a friendly staff person who explained the menu and got my meal going right away. I chose the moderate middle option but there was so much food I will not need dinner. A flavorful lentil soup started the meal. The plate that came out after the soup was piled high. The salad with avocado mint dressing was so fresh. The beans with onion are good but I do like beans spicy. There was cayenne pepper on the table to give them a bit more kick. A good sized helping of roasted butternut squash and potatoes smelled heavenly and tasted good. I was completely taken with the greens. I am not a huge kale fan. These were cooked perfectly and covered with a shallot sauce. The greens mixed well with everything else on the plate and were tasty by itself. Yummy. I enjoyed all this with a bottomless cup of delicious tea. Really a perfect lunch for a...
