Empire Pizza — Restaurant in Berlin

Been getting pizza, sandwiches, salads, hot wings, Gyros, pasta , cheese fries and other things from Empire Pizza in Berlin for many years now! Everything has always been fantastic! The Gyros are so fantastic! Hot and soft and such a good flavor! The hot sandwiches (club sandwich, grinders etc) are big and tasty. The bread is warm and soft, not huge and hard and crunchy like some other pizza places in town. My family gets Empire pizzas many times when we are having a party. The pizza is just the right thickness, not too oily/greasy, and the crust is just right. Chicken Ranchero with chicken and a white ranch sauce and bacon is absolutely fantastic! The moussaka pizza is great! They have eggplant and artichokes and have a more exotic selection of pizzas! The philly cheese steak pizza is great too! Sometimes if I'm going to a party and I don't have time to get anything, I'll have Empire deliver wings and cheese fries and stuff to my buddies house - I don't have to do anything, and everybody loves it!

Empire Pizza maintains the ingredients for the "perfect storm" of great pizza. They offer a thin crust, which I prefer; and, they offer a white pizza, which I also prefer. Naturally, this is what I ordered. As already noted, thin crust was served. The taste and toppings were the issue. If I've never experienced a pizza that I could describe as "dry", I have now. The consistency was that of cardboard, with no moisture at all. The mozzarella was topped with a smokey bacon, which sounds good; but, in this case, was over powering (The bacon was all I could taste). I also ordered a classic pepperoni and cheese pizza. There was plenty of pepperoni, but sauce was so understated that again, I can only describe the pizza as "dry". I do sincerely hope I visited on an off night;the other reviews seem to indicate this. I,however, have to urge caution. Be sure to buy a bottle of soda with your pizza. You may need it to...

$24 for lunch today not including the delivery tip...I ordered the sampler (3 chicken tenders, 3 mozzarella sticks, and 3 fried mushrooms asked for a side of honey mustard and a side of ranch). Then I also ordered a side of meatballs with cheese (3 meatballs) and it came to $24.00 Seems a little high price to me not to mention the menu online they said hasn't been updated in 6 years. Won't be ordering from there again, way to pricey for mediocre food. (Sampler $14, Meatballs $7.50...$2.50 for cheese and a side of ranch crazy!) The chicken tenders could not be any worse, the most processed chicken tender I have ever seen. I don't know what I was thinking ordering this food, and to pay so much money is...
