A neighbor invited me to a morning class. Based on my experience at a similar venue in Blue Back Square, I was reluctant to go, but thought I'd tag along. I'm so glad I did!
The facility is huge and beautifully decorated--I must find out how they created the gorgeous, shiny, silvery concrete floors. They had an easy to use coffee machine with all the bells and whistles and tea, several types of coffee, creamers and all the sugars and sugar substitutes you could want. The whole space was sparkling clean and light filled.
The instructor, Sam, was out of this world. Pleasant and professional, with a very solid art and art education background, she gave each of the participants the right amount of assistance based on their skills and anxiety level. Though letting us know there was no one right way to create the painting we were making she gave us detailed, clear instructions--then let us improvise to our hearts' content and with her help if asked.
I referenced my earlier experience at another studio. Not only were their facilities far inferior, the instructor gave only cursory instructions and didn't add to the group's engagement or fun. I suspect he was a high school student who had an interest in art. Sam, on the other hand, made us feel like signing up right away and continuing to paint and chat for the rest of the day. I suspect she may inspire some students to continue in independent work, since this business offers open studio hours where one can do just that, provided with materials and expert guidance.
A wonderful experience, very competitively priced. I expect to spend many more happy hours at this fantastic venue and recommend it without...
Read moreHad such a great night here, honestly wasnât expecting to enjoy it as much as I did but it turned out to be one of the funnest nights Iâve had in a while. The vibe is super chill and not intimidating at all, which was perfect for me since I havenât picked up a paint brush since like 6th grade lol. The instructor made everything so easy to followâshe broke it down step by step and somehow I actually ended up with something that looked like real art đ. I was lowkey proud of my painting and didnât feel dumb or judged, which says a lot.
The space itself is really cute and cozy, you could tell they put a lot of effort into making it feel welcoming. It was clean, organized, and the lights and music made it feel really homey but fun too. Loved that itâs BYOB, we brought a bottle of wine and some snacks and just made a whole night out of it. Everyone there was in a good mood and it felt like we were all just hanging out more than doing some âclass.â I didnât know anyone when I walked in but left feeling like Iâd spent the evening with friends.
Only small thing was we got a little lost tryna find the buildingâwish there were more signs or directions but once we figured it out it was fine. Honestly tho Iâd come back in a heartbeat. I even tolled my cousin she gotta try this place asap. Might even book something here for my birthday or a girls night. Itâs such a laid back, fun, no-pressure kinda place. Highly recommend to anyone lookin for something different to do thatâs actually...
