I was at the brewery up the road having a few drinks. I saw the pizza sign as I left so I figured I’d stop in and grab a slice or two. I went in and they didn’t have any slices. It’s more of a takeout pie joint or a hero(grinder, sub, wedge, etc.) joint. I didn’t want a whole pie so I ordered a chicken parm grinder, as they call it. To me, it’ll always be a chicken parm hero but thats the long island in me. The lady asked if I want provolone? I’m used to mozz so I went with the mozz. Roasted red peppers she asked. Who doesn’t love roasted red, so I said sure. Let me just say this is the first time I’ve had a chicken parm hero with roasted red peppers...it won’t be the last! It was delicious. All the flavors complimented each other. I almost wish I went with the provolone because they said that’s how they make it. Either way, the ‘grinder’ was delish! Then the delivery guy aka the owner, im assuming, walked in with his pizza bag. We got to talking and he was a complete gentleman. I would definitely recommend this place if your in the area. If you’re at Cole’s road brewery, call Kensington and place an order and bring it to coles! I wish I had tried the pizza as it looked...
Read moreWhen I try a new pizza place, I always order the same thing: a simple pepperoni pizza. It's my litmus test, because if a pizza restaurant can screw up one of the most basic pizzas there is, then it's not worth spending money to try anything else they make.
Kensington pizza blew me away with how well they were able to pass this test. First, the cheese was perfect. It wasn't runny, and stretched when you pulled off a piece of the pie like a stereotypical pizza in a commercial. The sauce was sublime, with a flavor that reminded me of my favorite pizza restaurants from my childhood. They really loaded on the pepperonis so there was a pepperoni in every bite, and they were full of flavor. Finally the crust was crunchy, flavorful, and kept all the toppings in their rightful place.
Not many pizza places get a perfect score from me, but I will be patronizing Kensington Pizza for years to come, In moderation of course. This pizza is dangerous because it makes you just want to order it every week, and I can't afford to add too many extra inches to my waist without buying several new pairs of pants. You've...
Read moreOrdered a Medium pizza and 2 bags of chips for delivery was about $22 and I live literally 2 minute drive away, I could hear a woman in the background complaining about how small my order was though it was over $20 and no delivery limit, then the man asked if I would be tipping the driver. I planned to tip but felt kind of rude to ask. Tips are not required they are signs of appreciation for hard work and good service. Sadly probably my last time ordering here. UPDATE: The driver calls me and is arguing with me about the entrance to my parking lot claiming theres 4 entrances turns out he was at the wrong address giving me attitude. I then get the pizza and its the wrong order had mushrooms on it which Ive never eaten once in my life so I call the pizza shop and the man on the phone argues with me saying thats what I ordered and that’s what Im getting, tells me his driver was driving all around looking for my address and they worked hard on it but doesnt mention he was at the wrong address I will NEVER order from this place again Bills Pizza right up the road has better food and 100x...
