McDonald's — Restaurant in Berlin

This place gets one star since the food was o.k.. I went through drive thru and ordered two items (coffee and breakfast sandwich). I was told one price, but when I got to the window, it was much higher. I asked the girl to repeat back what I had ordered and then explained the fact that there was a mistake. I then reminded her of the actual order and price she told me. That should have been the end of it. Nope. I got to the 2nd window and another girl asked for my receipt. I asked why and she said I paid the wrong amount and said I ordered a different order. I explained that I already straightened all this out with the girl at the 1st window. She should have been done there. Was she? Nope. She was accusatory and very rude. Where was her manager/handler? I don't know, nor do I care. I know this used to be one of the better McDonald's around, but the 80's are long gone... It was only 2 items. You would think it is impossible to screw it up. Nope. The drive thru is a double lane, maybe they got crossed up. Maybe someone ordered and left. Maybe the need better help. Any way you want to look at it, I wasn't there to hear a bunch of garbage from their ill-mannered drive thru "person". Their lack of organization should not have been my problem. It will be a long time before I go back there. I just wanted a coffee and figured the egg McMuffin would be a good treat. It was not worth the aggravation. Update (9/30/23): After avoiding this McDonald’s for a long time, on my wife’s suggestion, I ended up coming here again to grab a couple breakfast sandwiches and hash browns for the road. The workers were better, probably because they didn’t mix up vehicles/orders. Not real friendly, but that part of the experience was improved when compared to the last time I was here. The Sausage McMuffin was decent, but nowhere near as hot as the one I enjoyed in Branford last week. The hash browns were not as good either. As for the Egg McMuffin - my wife ate half and crumbled up the rest, chucking it in the bag while exclaiming “Disgusting”. Earlier my son who works at this Mcdonald’s came for frappes and breakfast. When he was getting his items one of the frappe’s spilled all inside his car soaking him and his seat because the cover wasn’t on correctly. I then heard a women through speaker phone saying “you have two hands use them” in a rude manner. A couple seconds later i heard that same women say “okay pull up to the white line” with a very furious voice as if this situation was an inconvenience to her. Nowhere between the interaction did i hear an apology neither. It doesn’t matter if my son works here he’s off today and he’s a paying customer today and that is not how you talk to people. I questioned my son on why he didn’t tell one of the managers to reprimand the women who was being rude and disrespectful and he told me that that same women is a manager who was a previous general manager and there’s nothing you can do about it. I personally don’t care about how high of a ranking you are you need to show not only your employees and customers respect. As a previous general manager which i’m sure it takes a lot of hard work and dedication for your job you should’ve sometime in a point of working been trained on basic customer service and or relations. I now question why she WAS a general manager and no longer is one. For someone who seems to not care about how she talks to any of her employees it sure seems like she doesn’t care about her job either. This is a very good McD's. The food is always freshly made and hot. I don't like the Shamrock shakes anymore though, I don't know why they changed shakes overall, they used to be a lot better back in the day. Update 8-21-19: I love the new double drive-thru and the remodel came out nice. I did go the other night to get a few hot fudge sundaes and wasn't too happy with them. They didn't even fill them to the top edge of the cup ☹. 3.18.22 Update Line was super long at the double drive through so I went in figured it would be faster, No it wasn't. I only ordered a hotfudge sundae and a small mocha frappe and the person who came in after me got his order before me and the car I was behind in the drive thru was gone for 5 minutes before I got my order. They said they didnt have sundae cups and had to go get some, 10 minutes to find sundae cups, smh.The manager was standing there so I told her what happened she couldn't care less. Then they hand me a sundae with a tiny amount of ice cream and a frappe with chocolate sauce running down the outside of the cup in 3 places. Manager didn't give a sh.
