I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS, HOWEVER: We had a wonderful dinner, food was great as it always is. When the bill came we put our card out, paid, and left -- admittedly, and to fault of our own, without reviewing the bill in detail. 3 days later after reviewing my online banking i noticed it appeared i paid more than i should have by my own estimates. Could the prices have changed from the online menu posting? Sure, so i gave portofinos a call. Expecting them to be more than willing to assist, as my family has a long history of dining with them for events and the like with nothing less than outstanding service, i begin to explain. I state everything we ordered including drinks and was told i would have to callback to speak with the owner mike. As such, i call and speak with mike the next day. His tone of voice, verbiage, and willingness to assist were less than desirable. We do find a discrepancy. He has charged me for 2 desserts and i re-state that i only had 1. And that was that. How could he believe me? His "ticket"as he puts it says i had 2. I apologized for not reviewing my bill more thoroughly the night of and asked: so your not going to refund me for the dessert i never received (ate or ordered) and your waiters mistake? How could he, he doesnt know. WELL im not sure how many clients call him on a day to day that spend over 100 dollars and tip 20%+ trying to con his company out of a free dessert, but who knows! I did advise that i prided his business and this restaurant on much higher customer service standards, thanked him for his time, and disconnected the call. Needless to say, i will miss the great food but will never dine there again. He lost alot more than that $6 refund...
Read moreI would have given a 5 star deview based on my first experience which was lovely. I had a wonderful young man waiter who was so kind and meal that was amazing. The last time however, I ordered to-go. Another young man took my order and charged me an additional $3 for Gf pasta. I was hesitant but placed the order with a cognac sauce as I did last time. It was usually a dish over pasta and when I picked up, my gf pasta wasnt labeled from the other regular dish I ordered with the order. He had to ask the chef and when I got home, they both looked identical. Also, the meal wasnt over pasta as I had had before but rather it was a much thinner sauce with veggies(not in first visit dish either) and pasta was on the side with red sauce so I never got to enjoy the meal but since I live 1/2hr away, I wasnt in a position to go back. Read moreThe meatballs on point, oil and garlic amazing. The bread not fresh but palatable. My fiance Ribeye while very pricey absolutely out of this world. But my meal was terrible. Eggplant sliced so thin it was undetectable just a plate of bread crumbs baked with thick red sauce and cheese. Suppose to be parmesan but a slice of melted cheese on top. This was the second try. First order was an order of Eggplant Rollitini. The prosciutto was so thick I couldn't slice an the dish was so salty and floating in sauce i just could not eat it I would say stay clear of Eggplant dishes all together. The sad part. Is i wasn't offered and compensation. I could not eat the meal. Even if it wasn't a monetary sitiation a dessert would have been nice. Drinks were offered i declined. We ordered 1 NA beer. And i stated we do not drink. So basically a 22oz ribeye steak dinner with meatball appetizer cost us. 130.00. I used to love this restaurant. We might try again. The service...
