Bandit's Roadhouse — Restaurant in Berwick

Hadn’t been to Bandits in a long time and traveled to Berwick for something different while everyone was home for the Holidays. It’s sad to see how poorly they do but thrive with limited choices in the area. All plastic cups at our table were dirty like they needed scrubbed after years of just going through a washer and being rinsed. There was a thick film buildup I could scrap off (picture- so I asked for a kids plastic cup without stating why) My fork was the same with white crust on the backside (pictured as well). We all sat with our jackets on since it was cold. Initial impressions made me question cleanliness of the kitchen and against my better judgment we didn’t cancel our food order. We were the first customers on a Friday afternoon and when we received our food the fries were cold like they were premade and sitting awhile. Mac and cheese meals for the kids were also cold they wouldn’t eat it. Food did come out quickly though which makes me wonder why it was so cold unless the environment cooled it down that quickly before coming to the table.. Restaurant needs to do better at cleaning their dish ware and getting food out before it gets cold and maybe turn the heat on so customers are not wearing their outerwear indoors. Waitress we had was nice but service wasn’t great especially when the restaurant only had three customers for the duration we were there. She kept asking me to remind her for things such as a cup of mayo when we made our orders.. after hearing the table behind me send back items they ordered to be removed off their check; I am thinking my experience isn’t abnormal. We don’t plan to make a special trip back...

This review is a long time coming. I ate at this restaurant with my husband on October 02, 2024. I told my excellent waitress, Katarina, I would write a review so I'm keeping my word.

The place was hopping the Wednesday night we visited. Still, we were seated quickly. It took a hot minute to get drinks, and at least a half hour to get our food (I was told it was sent back as not perfect the first time), but wow was it worth the wait.

The place has a cool vibe. It was fun watching the people in the restaurant and at the bar. Lots of locals.

I had a mushroom burger and fresh cut fries. Darn the place is so far away or I'd eat there at least once a week. My burger was perfectly grilled medium and my mushrooms were covered with melted provolone. It was so darn good. Then, there were the fries. I love fresh cut fries, franklly I picked the place based on the fact they served fresh cut fries. Not a dissapointment. So good.

I loved, too, that the beers were so stinking cold. Great service. We always had a cold beer during our meal.

My husband had the fried chicken sandwich with waffle fries. Both were good choices.

Very Disappointed with my most recent experience eating here. My mother in law took me for lunch for my birthday. We arrived at 1:30. Restaurant and Bar were very slow. Ordered our lunches (burgers) and appetizer (nachos). Took forever to receive our appetizer. Had to ask the bartender to give us silverware. After sitting for over an hour we had to ask our waitress to check on our food, which she did not even bother. After almost 2 hours our food finally came out in spurts. After such a long wait it was extremely disappointing to have burnt burgers that we could not even finish. Waitress was snarky but she adjusted our bill slightly for the long wait. She had a 15 dollar tip on the table despite her service. When she came back to the table and basically tossed the check back at my mother in law and walked away it was picked back up. Her tip....Learn how to be a better server. I will definitely not be going back. Sad how this place went downhill. I used to...
