Posting this cause our waitress was awesome and I wish her the best here.
Short: Good food. High-ish prices with live music is a good way to 'impress' a date. Very filling with a menu consisting of over 110 colorful menu items (including beverages) you will surely be tempted to try them all.
Critical overview:
Appearance
At first glance the restaurant is very appealing to the eye. A sports bar/mexican grill combo is surely a sight to behold as you approach the lively patio with mariachis performing familiar tunes. Stepping inside, a person is greeted by three hostess in a rather huge room making you're experience all the worth while. The atmosphere is lively as you walk through the busy bar area with countless bottles lining the wall. Overall, a modern, cool place.
Menu
I believe one of the most imortant aspects of this review lies here. With a menu consisting of over 90 food items, I was guaranteed a mistake in my order. This is not to say that I believe anyone in the kitchen is incompetent in making a order correctly, but with a menu that large, there's bound to be mistakes. In my opinion, cutting down the menu by about 45%-50% would resolve some of the issues with timing, meal prep, meal accuracy, and quality. However, if you plan on having a night out, make sure to have a plan on getting home. With over 30 beverage options including margaritas, beer, speciality drinks etc, you're bound to have a great time!
Food
To start off, I made the tactical error of ordering pasta at a sports bar/grill. My mistake. Fortunately, the pasta was very delicious and was portioned quite generously (I personally like more food, who doesn't?!) However, going along with the accuracy of meals, I had ordered the seafood pasta which included mussels, shrimp, and octopus alond side fettuccini and their signature sauce. Upon delivery, I received scallops instead of octopus. Sure, talk about first world problems, but in making this review, I need to check all my bases so that consumers know exactly what to expect when coming to an establishment such as El Nuevo Vallarta. I spoke with my waitress (whom was more than exeptional!) And she went and double checked with one of the managers. They quickly corrected the problem and brought out a well portioned cup of octopus to add onto my dish. Props for handling that so well!
Price
El Nuevo Vallarta is a pricy venue. You won't spend an arm and a leg, but you pay for what you get. Fresh lobster priced at market prices and fluctuate and either be a deal, or perhaps a finger or two. However, there are dishes that are in the $10-$20 range that are just as delicious and filling as anything over $40.
Conclusion
First time here wasn't a bad experience. I would defiently come again and order some of their specialty sea food items. I would also recommend this place to people I know and to you. Try it out! Give it a go. And if you don't like it, you can always...
Read moreWe visited this location on February 12th. Part of our party arrived early as waitting time can be between 1-2 hrs and at times 3hrs. My party was a total of 8. The valet made us exit twice as they kept misleading customers to where they would go that made us loose time and irritated. The person who got to the location early tried making reservations and was told few days before and the day of the dinner that it was not possible as it was first come first served. Upon arrival the person waited close to 2 hrs and was given a table and since the place was overly crowded the rest of the party was waitting in the cars. Obviously due to covid precautions that the restaurant lacks to take. Upon been called we lost the table as valet was slow in parking a car in our party and security was overly aggressive with the males in our party attempting to enter the location. Well we told the manager to wait and she rudly told my mother that she couldn't wait and had to loose the table. My mom complained like any customer would. The party had to wait about another hour before been seated. The manager with curly hair was very rude and told my mom if she wanted that our party would continue to wait all night long for complaining to her about the issues. Yet, we overheard when some customer called over the phone and she clearly said they would accommodate their table upon arrival. Yes, my mother told the lady that she needs to better treat customers and needs to humble up because for the customers she continues to have a job and she should value all of the customers equally. Our party spent a little over $650 that day. The service from our waitress was fantastic always attentive and friendly. Overall The valet parking needs better coordination and the floor mananger or manager needs to have better control over the location and needs to work in her customer service. The location needs to work in covid-19 precautions. The place has a small waitting room and upon arrival there was approximately 50-80 people waitting to be seated. Mask where not enforced despite the signs in the location. Great food, drinks and vibes just bad customer service minus the waitress who gave us a 10/10service. Therefore I give...
Read moreUnfortunately I have to give at least one star but in reality it should be 0 stars!!! It was my husband, daughter which is 2 years old, and I and we were told it was 1 hour n a 1/2 which we said ok BUT instead took 3 F** hrs to get a table! They were passing all the big parties first as they were coming in and their personal friends....We finally got our table and the waitresses didn't even know what tables were theirs. Next thing I know there was a couples seated next to us with a baby and I can say that they didn't wait not even 45 minutes for a table not to mention we saw them coming in as we waited and saw how they were friends with one of hostess which he received them with a hug n kiss....We finally got our waitress after 15 minutes and ordered drinks and my drink was absolutely disgusting even my husband tried it and said it was nasty, I did NOT drank that s*** and ordered a bottle coke and was told they didn't have any but had pepsi so we said ok to it AND we got pepsi from the machine and once again was nasty, tasted like seltzer water and I know pepsi, food took like an hour to come out and was cold and no flavor, the amount of shrimp on my husband's plate was a joke, even my my daughter didn't like the food and she's only 2. We ordered shrimp empanadas as appetizers but minute later was told that they ran out so we said ok we were just sticking with just our plates. When food came out they brought empanadas too ( yeah after we were told no more) but they were fish. They only good thing was the waitress was actually nice and took the empanadas off the check, I could've being a total B and said everything that was wrong and left with a free meal but we are not like that my husband left the waitress a good tip just because he said it wasn't her fault which I know it wasn't. People already asking us about it and definitely telling them to NOT even bother on wasting their time there. Instead go to La Finca in Summit IL. Pretty sure most of the good reviews will be from employees and owners friends. This place is not going to make it even if it's nice, so many bad reviews and it just...
