BUYERS BEWARE!!!

I went here based off of a friend’s recommendation, super excited to see what cards I could add to my collection. I went inside around 7pm, about an hour before they close. The employees seemed nice and were willing to help me out any way they could.

That’s about all the positive things I can say about them…

I went and bought a Hidden Fates ETB that looked sealed even though the packaging was slightly loose, which was around $160. My friend got a Chilling Reigns ETB as well. While I was in there I did notice they sell their cards at a premium, meaning above market price. (So fair warning if you do decide to come here after reading this)

When I got home, I opened the ETB packaging and took out the card packages with my friend. I noticed the card packages had been resealed based off of prior videos I’ve seen about how to verify older Pokemon sets with my friend. This was a huge bummer as I was really looking forward to having at least a chance at getting a chase card.

This wouldn’t warrant a review from my end as long as the employees and the owner were understandable, as this does happen and is unfortunate!

However, I contacted the employees and they tried telling me that Sun and Moon era uses “different machines” and they (the card shop) “validate their purchases at the highest level”!? Then they told me to contact the owner on Facebook, so I did. The owner not only treated me with confrontation and backed his buy without understanding but also didn’t give me a refund/store credit for this mishap. As the buyer I shouldn’t be responsible for this for any reason and this falls on their “validation at the highest level”. (Which I’m assuming is the owner, for a small card shop lol) Not to mention the owner tried to back himself up based on someone else’s eBay post, which proves nothing.

Needless to say, I’m never coming back here again. I would give 0...

I give the store credit for having a good selection of titles that you'd never see in person unless found online. Here it's tangible so you can see the condition of said games in person. Unfortunately outside of the good selection of games, their prices are beyond typical re-seller prices and their merchandising is like someone's unorganized storage unit. $15 for an NES controller, $20 for a Sega Genesis controller, $5 for old sports games and $45 for Super Mario 64. Half Price Books carries multiple copies of Super Mario 64 for $30. No old sports games are worth more than $2 and there's no reason a Genesis controller costs $20. I would have liked to look at their N64 section, had it not been blocked by boxes filled with some random stuff that either needed to be priced and put away or thrown away, hard to tell. Open boxes full of other oddly placed stuff were all over the floor and near the register. Everything was everywhere, just like their prices. My girlfriend told me there was a PS4 section. I said I didn't see it. She said of course not, it was on a shelf up top. Why is there merchandise up top where people don't notice it? It's worth coming in here for to check their inventory and maybe find a fairly priced title if you look hard enough. But unless you feel absolutely fine paying $80 for The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past on SNES, it's slim...

I like this place a lot - they have a great selection of games (some of the prices are a bit high), and the staff is very friendly & helpful. But the games could be organized a lot better and at the very least alphabetized. It makes it very difficult to look for specific games, and it also makes you spend more time searching when other people are trying to browse through the same display. The place is already pretty cramped as it is, and this leads to more congestion. Cash only is another downside, especially since there are no cash refunds offered. One of the Sega Genesis games I purchased was not working at first and only began working once the cartridge was taken apart and cleaned. This is something the store should be doing with each game to make sure all games are in working order when they're sold. To me, that's what justifies paying a higher price for these retro games. So overall it was a positive experience, but there are definitely some changes that could be made when it comes to cleaning & organizing inventory, and updating the POS system to accept credit/debit (itemizing the receipts would also be an...
