Tried going there 3 times now hoping at different times there is less people. It’s not like they are jammed packed, but the place is so small that they don’t follow social distancing.
So this is more for people who are concerned for their health and are following CDC guidelines. For people who want to make sure to not be expose themselves unnecessarily to COVID-19.
All three times I have noticed people come in without masks not following social distancing. Neither of those times have the staff said anything in fact they start talking and joking around with those clients. Every time I have decided to leave after giving the business the opportunity to enforce CDC guidelines. The last time I thought I got there at a good time. This man came in after I was already inside and the person at the counter ignored me and proceeded to talk to him. I saw him put down part of his mask. I thought he was adjusting. I moved as far as I could and when I looked back he took the mask off completely and began poking his nose.
It was disgusting and the person at the cash register didn’t say a word. If you think about it the minute you walk up to that door that man has already grabbed that door handle with his filthy hands. He was just picking up food not dining in. I left immediately.
We called them to let them know they should enforce CDC guidelines because businesses are getting fined for not following CDC guidelines. The person on the phone started to give us attitude until they realized we had just walked in and left so we knew what we were talking about. I hate to call the authorities on a small business it’s very conflicting. They are already struggling, but I look at the Cicero and Berwyn Covid-19 cases and this here is another reason why we have one of the largest percentages of infected in the state.
I will not be calling the authorities, but I will not be returning even if things get better this business has really disappointed me. So if you crave tamales and champurrado from a business that follows CDC guidelines I recommend Tamales y Más on 26th and Austin. Stay...
Read moreHad a horrible experience the guy answered my call which I would assume is the owner is very rude he hung up on me! So this is what happened I was online searching for the nearest place to purchase tamales oxaqueños and this place popped up I went on there website and it showed half a dozen $15 plus tax it doesn’t specify that mole ones are $5 each. So I went in knowing I was going to purchase half a dozen and she over charged me $9. I didn’t t realized until I got to work that that charge was on my receipt. I called and they said that the mole ones are $5 each I argued and said that’s not what your website says she’s like there is a sign by the register. I was like I didn’t even see it because I went in knew what I was ordering because I was looking at your website. She made a whole big deal and kept refusing to give me my money back until I showed up in person and told them that what they are doing is false advertising . She had the nerve to say that’s not my problem you weren’t paying attention to me when I toldyou. Very rude customer service sucks. I also bought half a dozen of the regular tamales and they were not fully cooked...
Read moreI placed an order with DoorDash on 12/30 for pick up the next day, 12/31 at 2:40 pm before they close at 3. When I arrived around 2:45 to pick up my order the doors were closed. The workers were still in there, but wouldn’t open the door for me. After knocking several times a worker came to the door to tell me through the closed door they were closed. I showed her my phone through the close door to signal I had an order to pick up. The worker cleaned the condensation of the door window to read my phone & told me they had no more tamales. I insisted for her to open the door so I can show her I had a pick up order placed the day prior. Once she finally crept the door open slightly she proceeded to tell me that there was no more tamales & they canceled all DoorDash orders an hour ago. Which was a lie, because I got the cancellation notification after I drove off. I was excited to serve these tamales at my get together since I’ve only heard good things. Unfortunately, this whole experience was unprofessional and rude I won’t...
