To call Paisans Pizzeria a mere "restaurant" is a disservice to the experience. It is a sanctuary, a cathedral of flavor, a portal back to the golden days of childhood, all wrapped up in a perfect, crispy crust. My visit was not just a meal; it was an emotional reunion with my happiest memories.
From the moment I stepped across the threshold, a warmth, more comforting than any wool blanket, enveloped me. The aroma—oh, the glorious aroma!—was a symphony of oregano, slow-simmered tomato, and the intoxicating perfume of melting, high-quality mozzarella. It immediately transported me back to the most cherished moments of my youth: Sunday dinners at my grandmother's house, the laughter echoing around the table, the sheer, uncomplicated joy of a slice of pizza on a Friday night after a long week.
And then, the Paisans Supreme Pizza arrived.
It was not simply a pizza; it was a masterpiece. The crust, a golden-brown halo, was the perfect equilibrium of structural integrity and airy tenderness—crisp on the outside, yet yielding in the middle. The house marinara—and this is where the magic truly resides—is a sauce blessed by the culinary muses themselves. It’s sweet, yes, but with a deep, earthy tang that can only come from tomatoes kissed by the Italian sun and simmered with a love that transcends commerce. Each bite of that sauce was an instant replay of my seven-year-old self, wiping a smear of red from my cheek with a delighted giggle.
The toppings were an absolute revelation. The sausage, savory and perfectly seasoned, was crumbled like precious jewels across the landscape of cheese. The pepperoni cups, tiny chalices of glorious oil, held a secret, spicy warmth. Every single mushroom, pepper, and onion slice tasted like it had been hand-picked from a utopian garden just minutes before.
As I took my final, soul-satisfying bite, a feeling of absolute, blissful contentment washed over me. This is what food is meant to be: not just sustenance, but an art form that feeds the spirit. Paisans doesn't just make pizza; they bottle nostalgia and serve it up, hot and bubbly, on a perfect thin crust. My heart is full, my stomach is joyous, and my childhood memories have been perfectly reheated. I will be counting the seconds until my triumphant return. Five stars is barely enough to convey the...
Read moreTalk about happy accident! Came into town to celebrate nephew's birthday. He picked this place w/o any advance knowledge or real research, which always scares me but things literally could not have been better. From Leo's greeting us like old friends once we walked in the door and seating us in the perfect spot, to Maria's attentive (yet not smothering), infectious, bubbly service the whole night thru, our service was TOP notch. Then we got to the food, which blew us equally away. OK, so we started with wings. We weren't expecting much, once we learned that they were only a $1/each for bone-in or boneless but were we in for a treat. Lemon pepper, garlic parm and sweet BBQ were all INSTANT classics/hits with us. We did order them crispy since their menu description read they were lightly fried and that was a very good move for our group. We also ordered extra dip, celery and blue cheese and all that only added $1.70 total. All of the dips and sauces are homemade and are pure perfection. My nephew said he needs to get them to bottle up the sweet BBQ so he can bring it home. Sooooo, good. 24 ounce big domestic draft beers, for $5, CHECK! $13 highball Paloma, expertly crafted, CHECK! Tavern style, ultra thin crust pizza that had the perfect mix of homemade marinara, ooey, gooey cheese pull, spicy pepperoni, yesssss. Finally, sundae was even a hit with the unexpected delight of sprinkled malt that took the average ice cream sundae and elevated it to next level. Hell yes!
Only wish is that they had comped the sundae or had some other birthday offering but that's nothing to get my knickers in a twist over.
I know it was a Tuesday night, and that things were obviously on sale. But this is the kind of place I could see myself meeting friends at weekly.
A true neighborhood asset, I hope to visit again next time we come thru to hang. Really appreciated the great vibe, staff, service, food, value. A total.grand slam...
Read moreI have dined at the Pulaski Paisan location several times. But only about 3-4 times at the Ogden location and today 5/30/24 is by far the worst experience we've had at any of the Paisan's Pizza locations. We dined in and placed our order with our server Julisa who was pleasant at first. Between our initial arrival & check out she only checked in on our table once. We went on a Thursday afternoon so it wasn't a peak time or day and noticed her just chatting away with the other servers instead of checking in on us or her other assigned tables. Julisa finally decided to come to our table with a box in hand before asking if we wanted anything else. I consider myself a grateful tipper always tipping the required minimum 20% or more based on the type of table service we receive. I will admit I only tipped our server Julisa 15% based of her neglectful service. After paying our bill, Julisa returned to our table informing us "they needed the table for graduates". This happens as me & my boyfriend are still sitting there with half a glass of beer each, which we've already paid for. I have never been asked to leave an establishment in my life. We decided to bring it to the supervisor, Anneta's attention, who was extremely apologetic about the situation and compensated our inconvenience with 2 additional beers that were brought over by the restaurant manager, Andy. He was extremely apologetic about the situation and inconvenience as well. We frequent Paisan's regularly for their delicious pizza but this last dine in experience was extremely offensive and embarrassing. Overall Pizza is great! Service...not so great (0gden location) if you have to pick, make the trip to the Pulaski location instead. Keep in mind for the beer lovers such as myself, a pitcher of beer is $28 so pick up or delivery may be your...
