Alright, folks, buckle up because I’m about to take you on a wild ride through my latest gastronomic adventure at a place that’s quickly become the stuff of local legend: Pete’s Griddle. This isn’t your run-of-the-mill eatery; it’s a culinary battleground where flavors clash, and only the tastiest dishes emerge victorious.
The Feast Begins
First up, let’s talk Brussels sprouts. Yeah, I know, not the usual hero of the story, but stick with me. These little green warriors, armored with sweet potatoes and bacon, then drizzled in a balsamic glaze that’s sweeter than victory, will have you rethinking your entire life’s choices. They’re not just good; they’re “convince your kids vegetables are cool” good.
Then, there was the hot dog. Not just any hot dog, but a culinary masterpiece so simple yet so profound, it could bring a tear to the eye of a grown man. It’s the kind of hot dog that makes you wonder if you’ve ever truly appreciated the art of hot doggery before this moment.
But wait, the saga continues with a burger so phenomenal, it deserves its own epic ballad. Imagine the juiciest, most flavorful patty that’s ever graced this earth, nestled between the arms of a bun so perfect, it could only be the work of higher powers. This burger doesn’t just set the bar; it launches it into the stratosphere.
And just when I thought the culinary gods had bestowed all their gifts, out came the ribeye. This steak was a titan among meals, a masterpiece of meat that was so tender, so perfectly cooked, it could make a grown man weep. It was the kind of dish that doesn’t just satisfy your hunger; it fulfills your soul.
The Heroes Behind the Scenes
But what’s an epic tale without its heroes? The staff at Pete’s Griddle aren’t just workers; they’re culinary knights, battling the forces of hunger with a smile on their face and a spatula in their hand. Their service wasn’t just good; it was legendary. These folks treated us not just as customers, but as comrades-in-arms, joining us on our quest for the ultimate dining experience.
The atmosphere? Imagine a realm where joy is the currency, and laughter fills the air. A game room for the little squires to battle it out, while the elders feast and make merry, with free popcorn flowing like the ale of the gods. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a sanctuary for the hungry and the weary.
The Verdict
In the end, Pete’s Griddle isn’t just a place to eat; it’s a place where culinary dreams come true, where every bite tells a story of triumph, and where every meal feels like a victory feast. So, if you find yourself yearning for a dining experience that’s nothing short of epic, saddle up and head to Pete’s Griddle. Trust me, it’s a journey...
Read moreAverage in every sense except highly overpriced. We ordered 2 appetizers (roasted veggies and nachos). The roasted veggies were served in a small boat and were tasty; the balsamic glaze delivered the promised punch. The nachos were a couple of handfuls of corn chips lightly drizzled with a bland white cheese sauce. I ordered the fish tacos. The dish consisted of 2 street taco sized tortillas with a single fried haddock tender in each along with a sprinkle of raw cabbage and diced tomatoes with a small side of 15ish fries. The husband ordered the Spicy Chicken Sandwich special, and it was a fried from frozen chicken patty with a drizzle of Buffalo style sauce. Unremarkable. We also ordered the pasta alfredo, one with shrimp and one with chicken. The alfredo lover in the group declared "never again" and said he had no suggestions for improvement because it was so poorly made it wasn't worth it. The shrimp was good, the chicken was unadorned and unseasoned. The portions were quite small and more side-dish appropriate. We plodded on and ordered dessert. Here is where they got raised from 2 to 3 stars. The cheesecake from Sysco was reliably good and enjoyed by 3 of us (plain, chocolate and raspberry sauce). I ordered the deep fried oreo and ice cream special and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly cooked, and served while still hot. The service was scattered and lackluster but not poor. Not a $200 experience and we will not be returning...
Read moreAbsolutely loved this place! We were out for a ride, and this place came up when I googled breakfast in Bethel, and it looked super cute, so we went. From the moment we walked in, we had top-notch service. Hostess was sweet and accommodating as I am picky where we sit in restaurants. Our server Vivi was awesome, very personable, and I love that this is a family place. It was their second day serving breakfast, and the food was great, especially the homemade blueberry muffins grilled on the griddle. The atmosphere was roomy, warm and charming. I love the old local signage. We'll be back for sure to try dinner. ...
