Read moreI was also part of the lunch group trying to express their disappointment in this establishment. Please understand, we have dined here multiple times without any issues. The food has always been delicious and the service has also been exceptional. Up until today, we loved this place. The fact that the owner feels the need to argue and try to quote a timeline that is not entirely accurate is ridiculous. They state we ordered drinks and then after the drinks were dropped at our table, we ordered our food. FALSE - we ordered the drinks and the food at the same time. If it takes 5 minutes to process and 18 minutes to plate the food, then we should have been eating by 1:00 and we were not.
The owner also states we asked for the check to be split 6 ways after we got our food to go. FALSE - we asked for separate checks when we ordered the food and we were told it was no problem. Please note, we always got separate checks and never experienced a complaint or problem. The server closed out our checks and gave them to us early so we could take care of them and not have to worry about it when we were trying to eat and get back to work. Perhaps this is where the owner is getting the 18 minute timeline - when the tickets were closed and dropped at the table, but that was done well before we received any food.
The owner also states that we asked for our food to be bagged just as it was plated 18 minutes after we ordered. FALSE, this would have made it 1pm and had we gotten our food then we still could have eaten and gotten back to work. We asked for it to be bagged around 1:15. It took a few minutes to get our food but it was not all given to us at 1:17. Everything was brought out separately, so we waited for everyone to get their orders before leaving. We waited on an order of fries that got misplaced (please consult with your server as she did apologize to us for that) and then we got in the car and left immediately. I checked the data log on my car and I exited the parking lot at 1:23pm.
Instead of being apologetic like the owner claims they usually are, they have continued to argue timelines with each of us, as I am sure they will do in response to my post as well. The owner continued to argue, saying maybe we should order take out if we do not have time to wait for them to prepare our meal. In my humble opinion, I believe that procedures should be re-evaluated if it is not possible to accommodate lunch orders that include 2 salads, 4 sandwiches and a couple orders of fries in 45 minutes. I also did not see the owner acknowledge the fact that 3 of the 6 orders were incorrect.
This whole experience has been very disappointing and has been made much worse by the owner's rebuttals instead of apologies. It is such a shame because we were very excited to dine there today as we loved Pat's but I don't know if I will ever be...
Read moreWhere to begin. So today was my first time ever eating or ordering from Pat's. I was intrigued by the reviews and videos I’ve seen via social media. I ordered the Cali chicken sandwich to-go, which, I mean, how could this go wrong? A pretty common handle. The menu reads: Grilled chicken, "Applewood smoked bacon", Gorgonzola, crushed avocado, tomatoes, arugula on Focaccia. Besides the fact it took longer than expected (which I am in the service industry so I get it, dinner rush, customers ordering all at once, no big deal), when I finally received my order, the to-go presentation was fine, but the sandwich tasted like unseasoned grilled chicken and Gorgonzola. Where my confusion came in was: where was the bacon or avocado? I returned to Pat's and asked the server—who, if I may add, was extremely pleasant—if the sandwich came with bacon. She advised me yes, it does. When I showed her my sandwich, she was just as confused as I was. She went to the manager who was standing in the kitchen to relay my concern. I could see him communicating with, I assume, a line cook. Now, my expectation was that the manager would come over, apologize, have some bacon made, put some avocado on the side, and I go about my merry way. Lol, that did not happen. Instead, I was told it was bacon bits on the sandwich, which you could hardly taste due to the overpowering flavor of the Gorgonzola. I don't know about anyone else, but I’ve never heard of applewood smoked bacon bits, and I’ve never seen it on a chicken sandwich, nonetheless a $19 sandwich and chips. I think anyone could expect what’s advertised, as opposed to shake-and-go bacon bits, hot blue cheese chicken tenderloin sandwiches. I would have given 1 star, but as I stated earlier, the servers I dealt with were so kind. Maybe adjust the wording or explain to guests that there are bacon bits that are harder to find than Waldo, the arugula is "salt bae'd," and the avocado is so crushed you’ll never know it’s there. To say the least, I’m extremely...
