I experienced float therapy a few years back while in college for the first time, and it was a tranquil, therapeutic-like experience that left a lasting impression. The concept of float therapy itself is genius, and I was excited to share this experience with my husband, who was curious about it. Unfortunately, our recent visit to Metta Relaxation Co. left us feeling disappointed and unwelcome.
We booked a 2:00 PM appointment and arrived eager to enjoy a relaxing session. My husband, who is from India, had read about the possibility of out-of-body experiences during float therapy and cutely asked the owner, Stephanie, about it. Instead of engaging with his curiosity, she quickly dismissed the topic, saying she had never heard of anyone having such experiences. Her tone and facial expressions were hard to overlook, and the conversation felt abruptly cut off, leaving us feeling unwelcome.
During his float, my husband noticed light coming into his room, which is supposed to be completely dark. When he brought this up with Stephanie, she immediately dismissed his concern, insisting that the hallway lights were off and it wasn’t possible, without allowing him to fully explain. The interaction felt rushed and dismissive.
Additionally, while I understand that the water in these tubs is recycled, finding hair floating in the tub is unacceptable and detracts from the overall cleanliness and experience. Although the facility itself appeared clean, details like this matter greatly in creating a comfortable and hygienic environment.
Overall, while float therapy remains an amazing concept, the treatment we received during this visit was off-putting. It felt as though we were not the kind of clients Metta Relaxation Co. is interested in attracting or serving. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this establishment, and I encourage others to carefully consider their expectations...

I’m surprised by your reply, as it does not reflect our experience or intentions accurately. Neither my husband nor I had any unrealistic expectations. We came to Metta with a very open mind, simply curious based on the description of float therapy provided on your website. Our conversation with you lasted only seconds—likely around 30 seconds—and I find it hard to believe that such a brief interaction could have left you feeling “pressured.” If anything, your tone and demeanor during that exchange came across as dismissive, rude, and even prejudiced, which prompted us to leave.
If you have a camera reel, I encourage you to review it to verify the brevity of the conversation and provide truthful public feedback. A 30-second interaction, particularly one marked by your rudeness, would hardly justify the discomfort you claim to have felt.
Additionally, your response still does not address our concerns about the hygiene of your establishment. While I have no intention of returning, a professional response to such inquiries should be standard.
Whether you choose to respond or not, we will no longer be entertaining these fake and dismissive replies. I had been working on myself for quite a while and I just couldn’t get past some things and I didn’t know why. I didn’t know anything about Metta or Stephanie but I just booked a session. I’m so glad I did. Stephanie is wonderful and the release therapy is nothing I could’ve imagined. It is all about hidden trauma that many people have in their life some trauma you may know about some you don’t even know about. Stephanie teaches with such care and compassion on how to deal with past trauma and future trauma . Her gift is nothing I’ve ever seen before. She’s definitely amazing at what she does. Her calming effect and what she did for me has changed my life.
