We arrived at 5:50pm on Fri. 11/10/23 to a nearly dead dining room, but were told there was a 15 min wait. The hostess took my cell # and said she would text when our table was ready. She never did. We went to the bar and ordered a drink. After sitting there for about 45 min, the bartender asked if we’d like to order. When we told him we were waiting for a table and it had already been 45 minutes, he said he was going to check on it. More than 15 minutes later, we still had not been seated. He finally put us at a table, and it was several minutes before someone came over to tend to us. As you can see on the receipt, our order wasn’t taken until 7:19pm. They brought three waters to the table and never asked if we’d like anything else to drink. Several minutes later, he came back to take our order. When we did finally get our order, our appetizer was incorrect. We ordered the large size $11 Pepper Jack Mac Attack as a shareable for the table and got the small $7 size. When they brought out our meals, none of them were correct. I ordered my burger rare with extra cheese and add tomato. It was well done with no extra cheese, no tomatoes. My dining companions ordered their burgers medium and theirs were both rare. Neither had the extra cheese they ordered. They were tiny, dry, had no flavor and were on buns much larger than the burgers. And when I say tiny, when they brought me the sliced tomato they were slices of Roma tomatoes and one slice fit perfectly on that tiny burger. The pickles tasted like they had been soaked in sweetened kerosene. And the burgers don’t come with any sides like fries or even chips. Those are an additional cost. Our server never came back to see if we wanted anything to drink other than the water he brought us in the beginning, to ask if everything was ok or if we wanted anything else. The two cocktails we had were $11.50 each which is insane for a shot of vanilla vodka in a full glass of ginger ale. Our dinner was $75 + tip. At a burger joint!! We will never go back. At 6pm on a Friday evening, a new restaurant in our area should have a line waiting out the door! This place was a ghost town. By the time we left there were only three...
Read moreOrdered a Retro Burger since I figured that would be their signature burger. Well, it was small and overcooked (I asked for med. well), the bun broke apart in pieces. Since this $10 burger does not come with fries, I wanted a side order, and the waiter charged us for a family size. The coleslaw was flavorless. KFC has WAY BETTER Coleslaw.
I am a Connoisseur of cheesesteaks and thought I would give them a shot. This was by far the absolute worst cheesesteak I have ever had. I didn't even eat it. I wasted $17 on it. The meat was not frozen shaved bottom round. It was all fatty grizzled. When you tried to eat it, the grizzled would pull clumps of stringy fat out of the roll. Lastly, the amount of meat in the roll was an absolute insult. $17 dollars for this should be a crime. Go to Carle's Corner in Bethlehem if you want a real cheesesteak. If you want a real burger, then go to the wooden match in Bethlehem. We should have not even sat down when we saw how dead it was in there. Two other tables with customers were all. We shouldn't have even had to pay for that garbage meal.
This review is my opinion, and if you want to try retro burger, that is your choice.
4/3/24 update: In response to the owners response, you obviously are not getting what I wrote in my review about your Cheesesteak. WHAT I WAS SERVED WAS NOT AN AUTHENTIC PENNSYLVANIA CHEESESTEAK, PERIOD. The meat you are using is horrible and your price for the Cheesesteak is outrageous.
No I will not be back to give you another chance, nor will I be be patronizing any of your other establishments. You took my money once, never a second time. My advice is to listen to your CUSTOMERS. If you want people to give you a second chance you need to change some things that multiple people have tried to give you corrective...
Read moreI'm Latin and I know how to damn good.. So, first thing I noticed they were empty Tries to sit me at the bar to try and get me to buy drinks. No thank you.. I noticed a couple, leaving as I entered that did not eat their food. I got worried, but gave them the benefit of the doubt. The bill was, I guess typical, $75.00. Three different burgers,. All patties were thin and small like Mcdeadly.. One had the wrong bun and ONE HALF SLICE OF BACON, the other had chicken and was burnt dark brown that the taste was burnt not spicy.. Lml. and the last was weird because the cheese was not melted the pork tasted like straight pork, the "pickle Jalapeños" were not balanced The jalapeños just like the "house ketchup" tasted like bottled store bought.. And forget it.. It was a mustard sandwich 😳.. I mentioned this to our server (who appeared more concerned with drinkers) but he didn't even try to remedy.. OK, whatever. No biggie.
I guess the bread and fries were good, but for a 7 dollar shareable just because they came with mustard and Mayo, 🙄😑 for that I should have added 2 side fries...
The service.. I don't know how to feel about the service.. I think Mc deadly would have taken the burgers back and replaced them.. We'll, I enjoyed McDeadly more than this experience. I def would never go back. This place can't hold a candle to Shake Shack. I ran home and devoured a three musketeers to get the taste OF MUSTARD out OF MY...
