When we first arrived the host was talking to someone on her cellphone away from the host stand so we weren’t sure where to go & just stood around waiting confused for a while. Then when she finally came back she was acting very odd like talking to herself & seemed very frantic. While we waited for our table we sat at the bar & this is when I first noticed that they are short staffed. The bartender looked very stressed & I felt bad for him. Once sitting at a table outside it was quite a long wait for drinks. Our server abigail didn’t seem to know the beer menu very well & came back asking which ones we wanted even though we had written them down. She thought the double IPA & the meridean cider were the same beer? She said she poured our beer flight herself but when I ordered a high noon seltzer I waited over 20 mins for it so I was just confused how she could go behind the bar & pour four beers but not go back there & grab a can… after waiting so long for the seltzer that we were completely done eating I went to find her & say nvm on the high noon & she was around the back side of the building talking to someone on her phone as well. So as I stood there waiting for her to finish I heard someone come up to the host stand saying they’re leaving bc they waited 15 mins & hadn’t been greeted by anyone. Which was the third time I heard someone say that. So I said to the host (different host than the one that sat us) “hey just btw I’ve heard multiple people say that same thing ab not being greeted & then leave” & she scoffed & rolled her eyes at me… like girl I’m just trying to let you know & help y’all out? Do better. End of the day our server Abigail was friendly the whole time & apologetic. But not everyone is meant to be a server or in the customer service industry…
The wait for our table was shorter than expected so that was nice. I’ll give one star bc the food was delicious. we had the loaded fries I think they’re called population control, the kabobs, a burger which my boyfriend said was one of the best burgers he’s had. I didn’t really enjoy my fried chicken sandwich but it’s my fault bc I chose it over the wrap that our...
Read moreMaybe we hit this place at the absolute wrong time & I want to give it another chance, but probably won’t. I hate leaving bad reviews based on one experience, but this one just had too many things wrong. It has some good reviews and I have to wonder if those people just haven’t ever left the town because this is not what I would expect based on the reviews.
What a waste of a cool venue! Needs some serious cleaning. Looked interesting from outside, but that was the highlight. Got inside, no server or waitress to be found for 10 minutes. I noticed the pretzels appetizer in a styrofoam container with someone sitting at the bar, not a great first impression. Bartender didn’t acknowledge my 7 year old son or me & looked miserable. We seated ourselves. Saw what appeared to be a worker, not dressed like a server in an unzipped hoodie and shorts eating food at a table and eventually she brought over water and then menus. A kitchen staffer wandered out with some plated food which didn’t look appetizing or well presented. At this point I was disappointed but still holding out hope. We waited another 10 minutes and she never came back to take our orders so after wasting basically 20 minutes we left for another place having to make a movie.
We get outside and she’s socializing with people in a car in the parking lot. So disappointed based on all the reviews and again, maybe we just hit the absolute worst time at 5pm on a spring Sunday, but it seemed more like a locals place that just so happens to have some food. Again, I hate leaving bad reviews, but this was a disaster. I have higher expectations of any food establishment.
The venue has a ton of missed potential but needs a serious makeover, fumigation from the cigars that can no longer be smoked inside (thankful for NJ establishments where all smoking inside is prohibited!) and a staff adjustment as well as some kid appropriate items; throw a plain cheeseburger and hot dog on the menu. Such a shame it wasn’t better since my son loves trains and was excited...
Read moreWe're from out of state and decided to just explore. We were walking around the nearby park area and came across this cute little restaurant. I quickly googled it, saw reviews were good. Decided we (My Babe, my 12yr old son and myself) would try it out. I should have paid more heed to the reviews about the service as they were spot on. It was awful. The hostess/waitress asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We chose inside. She told us to just go inside and sit wherever we would like and the bartender would take care of us. We get inside and get seated. The bartender rudely informs us we cannot sit inside due to not all of us were over 21 because they were a smoking bar. We were unaware as the hostess clearly saw our child with us and still told us to go inside. The bartender then walks out and seats us. The hostess/waitress then takes her time getting our order. We decided to just get waters and sodas and a couple appetizers. We order the pretzel bites and onion rings. Those take roughly 25-30min to come out to us, we did not get any refills in that time, or after for that matter, and weren't asked about ordering main dishes. The onion rings come out burnt. I sent them back and to have them taken off the bill. Pretzel bites were actually good and the only thing we actually liked about the place. Please take notice of service reviews. Was not worth the wait and...
