Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Biddeford

**Updated review: After the situation I described below, I received wonderful customer service. The manager, Tom, called me to address the issue and due to circumstances out of their control that day, I had to revise to a five star rating! After all is said and done, I will continue to come here for the delicious wraps and smoothies-(my favorite=avocolada)! Try it out!!

(Usually) really great food with friendly service, and I appreciate having a healthier option in drive-thru form. I want to see this place succeed. However, today I waited 45 minutes with a toddler and a baby in the back as I was stuck between cars at the drive-thru while waiting for our food. The girl at the window was flustered, and I’m sure there was a reason everything took so long, but I would have loved an apology right off the bat for the ungodly wait. We were then told they we’re all out of the sides we ordered-okay, so there was that. THEN we pulled over and discovered one of our items was also missing and had to go back in to ask for it! I don’t write bad reviews, and I never look for freebies but I would have appreciated some kind of customer...

I'd never before heard of Tropical Smoothie Cafe until my roommate returned home one day, singing their praises. He spoke of gigantic buffalo chicken sandwiches, and equally gargantuan smoothies, made from a host of various fruits.

Taken by his description, I headed there straightaway for a delicious lunch. However, there was a miscommunication, and my lunch was not as requested. Fortunately, upon discovering this, they offered me a replacement on which I am basing this review.

My roommate was correct: it was absolutely delicious! I had a buffalo chicken wrap, and was surprised to discover that it was well worth the moderately high price range. The wrap was filling and satisfying, and was made perfectly to order. It was complimented heavily by the addition of a 'Sunrise, Sunset' smoothie, which was equally as delicious.

I'll definitely be coming back here! I must advise, however, that I would not consider this a 'fast food' restaurant. The food was neither fast, nor cheap. The closest analog would be Subway, but Tropical Smoothie Cafe far outpaces Subway when it comes to the quality and quantity...

Have given this location many attempts because I love the smoothies and the Tai Chicken Wrap. The wait time is always AWFUL! Even if there is no one in front of you! I Ordered today and my smoothie was ready as I pulled up to the window and she said my food will be “right out”. I sat there so long, I finished my smoothie. She comes to the window and starts talking about another order, clearly they forgot my wrap. Instead of telling me that and maybe to pull around while they make it, they clearly threw it together as fast as possible. The outside was toasted and parts of it were semi warm but most of it was frozen, cold, and gross. Also, there was so much sauce slopped inside, that as soon as I unwrapped it, it spilled all over me. I am not going to accept that they are “young or immature or inexperienced”.
