If seeking information on the Oktoberfest please read, if not don't bother because I don't know enough about Wyatt's to help. In years past the Big Bear Oktoberfest has been a blast, with that said I understand times are different in 2020 due to Covid19 and I wasn't expecting much. The website is very vague on what's included in the price/prices or price levels and what the entertainment would be, so I made a call to get some info. 1st its outdoor only at limited capacity which was expected and not a problem. 2nd you are encouraged to make reservations in advance due to limited capacity. First price level is $45 and only gets you in the gate. The area in front of the stage is a much higher price level and requires a certain color wrist band to enter the roped off area. Cabanas are available for groups at an even higher premium = $250 for 10 ppl. 3rd not being allowed to enter the VIP area means you can't hear the band (I guess a couple extra speakers are out of the question) and you can't see or participate with the events = chicken dance, contests etc. 4th A little pricey on food & drinks. The biggest rip off of the night is the Jaeger shots sold by the shot girl, $8 each for the little tubes which was less than half of a regular shot sold at the bar for the same price (it was a sip). 5th Let's discuss the band shall we? I was informed it would be a classic rock band that did the festive German songs in between the rock songs. Wrong!! All they played was cheesy country songs all night, now I'm a country fan but this was just bad, bad song choices, bad singing and no rock except one Lynard Skynard song. So let's wrap this up, it was mildly fun and the food tasted decent, the band sucked (what we could hear from them). So all in all was it worth the huge amount of money we spent? No!! Wait until next year when its back to normal (hopefully). Unless you're desperate to get of the house and get plastered and there's no other option and...
Read moreWyatt's Grill & Saloon is easily one of the best spots in town. It’s a family-friendly destination with a warm, welcoming atmosphere and something for everyone. The food is consistently great, with a menu that covers all the comfort food cravings, from burgers and BBQ to fresh salads and hearty entrees. They offer a huge selection of beers on tap, a full bar with creative cocktails, and plenty of non-alcoholic options too.
One of the standout features is the spacious, open environment. The outdoor area is fenced and surrounded by forest, giving it a laid-back, rustic vibe where kids can safely run around while parents relax. Live music, seasonal events, and a casual community feel make it an awesome place to hang out with friends or unwind after a day on the mountain. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, Wyatt’s...
Read moreVery fun establishment! Massive outdoor patio with sawdust on the floor, a large stage for live music and large dance floor. A lot of seating, cornhole games and little cabanas for private parties. Cute little tiki bar as well.
Inside is massive with an indoor bar and lovely festive decorations everywhere. Line dancing on Wednesday nights. Ample free parking. Big celebration of I believe over two months for Oktoberfest!
Dwayne served us our drinks and then we went and got our table and ordered Wyatt’s jumbo wings with a side of Louisiana hot sauce and then we got a side of garlic and Parmesan to dip them in. Decent prices. Very fun way to eat them so they don’t get soggy. Very friendly staff & very fun experience! Probably gets really exciting when live music starts and people start gathering to dance. Highly recommend!...
