I am pleased to say, everyone and every restaurant can have a bad day. My last review reflects that. I was back this morning for breakfast and coffee. I am happy to give a good recommendation and return to 4 stars. The food was prepared fresh, the order was correct, and the service was again exceptional. The management even came by to ensure that everything was right and that I was enjoying my time in the restaurant.
So happy to once again have a good breakfast restaurant in town. Thank you Settles Grill.
Prior post ... 2 stars...This has previously been a great experience so I wanted to have another great experience. I will start saying that the server was also the host. Not certain if due to short staffed, but clearly was distracted with other responsibilities. Ordered a Texas Cheddar Omelette with bacon, guacamole, and salsa. Sides requested were sourdough toast and fresh fruit with extra side of bacon. The only item correct in my order was the fresh fruit. While their wheat berry toast is good, it is not sourdough. I didn't even list this among the issues to the server. The omelette arrived plain - no cheese, no bacon, no guacamole and no salsa. I ate the bacon, toast and fruit. The salsa arrived with some bit of plastic in it and was more chipotle paste than salsa. I have been in the service industry - not the server/hosts fault - so I requested to be billed for the toast, bacon, fruit and coffee. The server tried to appeal that the cheese (non-existent) was cooked into the eggs. It wasn't. I received my bill - paid and left a tip. I'm sad that now I'm convinced there isn't a good breakfast cafe/restaurant in Big Spring. I'll give another opportunity - but will be...
Read moreI recently visited this restaurant after hearing it described as fine dining, and I must say, it lived up to the hype. The ambiance was spotlessly clean, and the service was top-notch from the moment I walked in.I started with an Old Fashioned, and it was nothing short of perfection—expertly crafted with a beautiful presentation, using top-shelf ingredients that elevated the experience. Next, I had the Caesar salad, which was made with incredibly fresh ingredients. The crisp lettuce, rich dressing, and high-quality cheese all came together flawlessly. For the main course, I went with the chicken fried steak, and it did not disappoint. The flavor was exceptional, and the presentation was just as impressive. It was served alongside creamy mashed potatoes and fresh, long-stemmed broccoli, all cooked to perfection. To finish, I indulged in their banana bread pudding, and it was a true highlight. Each bite was packed with flavor, and the high-quality ingredients were evident in every aspect of the dish.If you're anywhere near Big Spring, Texas, and you're craving an excellent meal with fantastic service, I would highly recommend this place. Whether you're a local or just passing through, you won't regret stopping in for...
Read moreTalk about horrible food. Could not even eat breakfast here so over cooked and didn't even get what I ordered. Ordered the Big Texan Breakfast, eggs were overcooked and no cheddar, menu says cheddar scrambled eggs. Toast is burnt as well and just plain white bread not sourdough. Wife had biscuit and gravy, the biscuits were super dry and the gravy is salty and add on $4 eggs that were ordered over easy and guess what also over cooked med/hard. Only thing that came out okay was the waffle. We just left the food on the table and told the waitress sorry but what a disappointment. Went to Tita's instead for a great breakfast. Would rather eat a free hotel breakfast than...
