J Jayz Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Big Spring

The atmosphere is great: loved the murals of Billie Holliday, Louis Armstrong, and Frank Sinatra. There were a few people seated at tables and about 6 people at the bar; however the service was bad, we had 3 different people coming to our table, taking orders, and dropping off things. While the food wasn't terrible, our drinks were wrong several times. I personally had ordered a Long Island that literally had no alcohol, no sour mix, and flat pop in it. I regularly order Long Island's everywhere I go all over the United States and this was not it. I took my drink to the bar and asked the bartender for something different, she at first said, " I'll put some more alcohol in it." I asked again for something different. I asked her for double bourbon neat, she then asked me what kind of bourbon to which I said, then she asked what kind of glass and I asked for it in a rock glass. She held up a glass and asked if this was it, and I said yes. She went on to say she would have it delivered to my table. Disappointed! In area for business and rain cut our day short. Looked on Google for a place to eat and have a few drinks with the guys and decide on this little spot. The food was ok, but drinks were overpriced. Not very busy yet service was slow. Ordered a burger, one beer, and one cocktail drink. Bill was 44 dollars with a forced 7 dollar gratuity on everyone's ticket. When I received that ticket, it made me feel like I was scammed. After paying and receiving signature copy of receipt, I looked In the spot that normally says tip "where I normally write (on table) so the server knows there is money on the table" it said (additional tip). HA! No way. Between myself and my crew, the business charged us a whole separate over priced bill with the forced gratuities. when I asked the server if the tip went to her,...

The bartender was very sweet but took her a while for her to serve me. I could understand if she was busy making cocktails but she was literally just serving beer and shots. I will be fair, it was JUST her working the bar but it seemed like 2 other servers were going in and out occasionally.

This place holds the title of best margarita in 2021 but it hands down had one of the worst ones I’ve her had. Tastes insanely artificial. Don’t order it!

The Green Chile burger was ok but something about everything I consumed here almost made me throw up.

All in total I paid $36 for an ehh burger, one of the worst margaritas, and one corona. I suggest to just stick to your neighborhood Chili’s.
