During an overnight stay in Billings, my boyfriend and I decided to grab takeout and a bottle of wine and relax in the Airbnb we rented. We stopped at City Vineyard for the wine and I am SO glad we did. Neither my boyfriend or I have a sophisticated palette. We can't tell a $20 bottle of wine from a $60 bottle of wine and usually buy a case of Menage a Tois from Costco at about $10/bottle, drink that and call it a day. We CAN tell if we don't like something and there are a few wines we know to never buy again but other than that, we don't know much about wines
When we walked into City Vineyard, I was a little intimidated. I saw a large selection and wine prices from $19-$99 per bottle. I immediately started searching for stuff nearer to the $19 range. We were then asked a series of questions (red or white? Are you planning to eat it with food and, if so, what? Etc). I answered his questions but made it OBVIOUS we were searching for an affordable but good red wine. And, yet, even with our limited budget, that employee treated us with respect and seemed to be genuinely interested in finding the best wine that suited OUR needs (affordable, was going to eat it with Brazilian take out, etc). We ended up buying 3 wines and a couple of cheeses and will...
Read moreThis place is the best. Their old location was good, and was our go-to for a glass or bottle of wine, but the new location is incredible. This is exactly what Billings has needed for a long time. Huge selection of gourmet goods up front including probably the best wine selection in Billings. We've bought many bottles of here and have had 2 bottles that were "turned" and both times they graciously switched the bad bottles for new ones without any questions. That is exactly what I would hope for in a wine store that stands behind their product. In back is their lounge with wines by the glass, a ton of curated beer on tap, and some light food. Their cheese selection is ridiculous. Never been disappointed, not even a little. The staff is friendly and the patio is small but comfy. This is definitely one of our absolute favorite spots...
Read moreLiving in a small town, it was a real treat to visit City Vineyard! Being in Billings for bball tournaments, my daughter and I needed a break from wjustkes, crowds, and cheering! Couldn't ask for a better place to unwind, breathe, and relax....even if yoy're not a wine drinker. Abby greeted us immediately and set the tone for a lovely afternoon! We tasted a few wines, served to us by patient, beautiful Autumn. We spent the rest of our visit quietly sipping wine and a tasty cheese/fruit tray! So I'm telling you, ladies in the Billings area, grab a friend and take a breather at City Vineyard...wine or not...definitely the place to unwind!...
